FAQs

How can I identify storm damage on my roof?

Storm damage can manifest in several ways. Look for missing or broken shingles, dents on metal parts, granules in gutters, water stains on ceilings, and debris around your roof. It's advisable to have a professional inspection to accurately assess the extent of the damage.

What should I do immediately following a storm?

First, ensure your safety and the safety of your family. Then, document any visible damage with photos or videos, contact your insurance company to report the damage, and schedule an inspection with a trusted roofing contractor to get a comprehensive assessment and repair estimate.

Will my homeowner's insurance cover storm damage repairs?

Most homeowner's insurance policies cover storm damage repairs. However, coverage can vary, so it's essential to review your policy details or consult with your insurance agent. Typically, you'll need to pay your deductible before insurance covers the remaining repair costs.

How long does the storm damage repair process take?

The timeframe for storm damage repairs can vary depending on the extent of the damage and weather conditions. Minor repairs might take a few days, while extensive damage could take several weeks. A detailed inspection and estimate from your roofing contractor can provide a more specific timeline.

Can storm damage lead to more serious issues if not addressed promptly?

Yes, ignoring storm damage can result in more severe problems, such as water leaks, mold growth, structural damage, and increased repair costs. Promptly addressing storm damage can prevent these issues and help maintain the integrity of your home.

Why should I choose a local roofing contractor for storm damage restoration?

A local roofing contractor is familiar with the common weather patterns and building codes in Signal Mountain. They can provide quicker response times and are more likely to offer reliable, personalized service. Additionally, choosing a local contractor supports the local economy and can foster a stronger sense of community trust.

HEP came promptly when we had loss of power due to storm damage. In fact, this is the 3rd time this has happened due to falling trees. HEP has been our go to electrical contractor each time because of their dependability, fairness, and quality of work. Zack did a great job. Very courteous. Hope to use him again soon for some other work.

Our roof started leaking on a weekend from recent storms, so I sent a request online. They called first thing Monday morning to schedule an inspection. They were quite busy that day, and kept us updated as to the timing of their technician's arrival. When he arrived, Christian thoroughly inspected the roof, gave us his recommendation for a solution and tarped the roof as a temporary fix. Due to timing issues on our part and having to work with our insurance company, we couldn't schedule the repair right away. During this past weekend's storm, part of the tarp failed so I called and they immediately scheduled someone to come out and fix it. Jeremy arrived and had the problem taken care of quickly since more rain is expected before the work begins on Monday, and assured me that they will be there if I have any other issues in the meantime. I am very impressed by everyone I have dealt with at HEP; I am not sure I have ever received the level of communication as I have from them. They have answered every question, explained every detail and returned every phone call or text promptly and efficiently.
