FAQs

What are common issues with plumbing main lines in Decatur?

Common issues include blockages caused by tree roots or debris, leaks due to pipe corrosion or aging, and breaks resulting from ground shifting or extreme weather. These problems can lead to slow drainage, unpleasant odors, and even water damage to your property if not addressed promptly.

How can I tell if there is a blockage or leak in my main line?

Signs of a blockage or leak include slow drainage, gurgling sounds in your pipes, unexpectedly high water bills, and areas of damp or soggy ground near your home. Additionally, a sudden increase in sewage odor or pooling water in your yard can also indicate main line issues that need professional inspection.

What steps should I take if I suspect a broken main line?

If you suspect a broken main line, first stop using water to prevent further damage. Then, contact a professional plumber who can perform an inspection using specialized equipment like camera line inspections to pinpoint the issue. Quick intervention is vital to reduce the risk of environmental damage and costly repairs.

How can I prevent main line issues in my home?

Preventing main line issues involves regular maintenance, avoiding the disposal of non-degradable items down your drain, and scheduling periodic inspections with a trusted plumbing service. Keeping your tree roots in check and being mindful of local weather conditions, such as heavy rains or freezes, can also help protect your plumbing system.

What are the typical costs and repair times for main line issues in Decatur?

Costs and repair times can vary based on the severity and type of problem. Minor blockages may cost a few hundred dollars and be resolved within a few hours, while more extensive repairs, such as replacing large sections of a corroded or broken pipe, might cost more and require several days. A professional plumber in Decatur can provide an accurate estimate after an on-site evaluation.

Do you offer emergency plumbing services for main line problems?

Yes, many reputable plumbing companies in Decatur offer 24/7 emergency services to handle urgent main line issues. In the event of a sudden blockage or leak, it's important to have access to emergency services that can quickly diagnose and address the problem, minimizing water damage and disruption to your home.

What our customers say

The guys at HEP were great, especially Zach. We had a sewer line backed up and they came out and fixed it. Then it rained a few days before the job was done, so they had to come back and do some repair work. Everyone was very professional and courteous.

We had a water main break that required urgent repair. The technician who did the estimate (Luke) discovered corroded, leaking copper pipes under our house. So we had our water main and plumbing for the entire house replaced. We appreciate Luke, Jesse, Zach, Bryan, Tyler, Mike, Charles and Malorie. Each of these people did a fantastic job. I believe Tyler and Mike plumbed the house. They put in a very long day to get the job done. We are very impressed with the quality of work on this urgent job. We highly recommend HEP Is On The Way.

The works not been completed as of this post, however, my family and I recently acquired our “forever home”. We found that it needed some work (as to be expected for a 22 year old house). We were having plumbing issues specifically with the basement bathroom. Vladimir Vysotsky not only came out late, but stayed until 2230 hours until he felt he had fully diagnosed our situation with a crushed line likely from tree roots. He seemed very confident, knowledgable, and genuine. Thankful for people like Vladimir who are willing to come out late and do a dirty job to try to keep our lives on track. Great guy.

I would reccomend HEP to anyone needing repairs around their home. We called them after struggling for several days to locate a severe leak in our main water line. They came out and completely redid our entire water line in less than 2 days from the initial call. During the process we met with 4 different employees (Tommy, Mathew, Jimmy, unfortunately i didnt catch the last man's name) all of which were very polite and professional. They answered every question we had and worked very well with us on not digging up our entire yard to install the new line. They even covered their shoes so as not to track our basement when they finished the install and reattachment of the line. For sure would use this company again if needed.

Amazing company in every aspect! I needed a full line replacement of 90ft from my water meter to my house. Never had any experience in dealing with this. Contacted HEP, and they walked me through every step along the way. The technician who came to evaluate the problem was pleasant and knew his stuff. (Corbin) HEP was in constant contact with me about everything, and contacted me afterwards to make sure things were done up to par. (Raeshel) They arrived on time, went above and beyond my expectations, and preserved my property. (Billy and Stephen) Will be recommending this company to all my friends!
