FAQs

What exactly are main line plumbing issues?

Main line plumbing issues refer to problems within the primary pipe or sewer line that carries wastewater away from your home. These problems can include blockages, leaks, tree root intrusions, or pipe collapses. Such issues can disrupt the entire plumbing system, leading to backups and other significant problems.

How do main line issues affect my property in Sweetwater?

When the main line is compromised, it can cause sewage backups, slow drainage, unpleasant odors, or even flooding in your home. Besides the inconvenience, these issues can lead to expensive repairs and health hazards due to exposure to harmful bacteria. It's crucial to address them as soon as possible to minimize damage.

What are the common signs of a main line blockage?

Common signs include slow or clogged drains in multiple fixtures, gurgling sounds, frequent backups, and foul odors emanating from your drains. If you notice these symptoms, it may indicate a blockage or a more serious problem in your main sewer line.

How is a main line blockage diagnosed?

Professional plumbers in Sweetwater typically use advanced diagnostic tools such as video camera inspections and specialized testing equipment to pinpoint where the blockage or damage is occurring. These methods allow them to view the inside of your pipes and identify issues like root intrusion, build-up, or physical damage.

What repair methods are available for main line issues?

There are several repair methods available, ranging from non-invasive techniques like hydro jetting to clear blockages, to trenchless repair methods that minimize disruption by repairing or replacing the damaged section of pipe from within. The best method will depend on the severity and type of the problem.

How can I prevent future main line plumbing issues?

Regular maintenance is key to preventing main line issues. This includes periodic inspections, routine cleanings, and promptly addressing minor clogs before they develop into major problems. Additionally, proper landscaping away from the line and the careful disposal of waste can help reduce the risk of blockages and pipe damage.

These people are amazing, they came here thinking in would be replacement of the water line from the meter to the house. Well...it was 10xs more complicated with huge rock and tree's in the way, it became a snake maneuver to get from a to z. Let me tell you that when we bought the property the placed the home and used the old line to tie into. They didn't complain about anything, the manager, a new guy and another guy came out to make sure everything was excellent. And let me testify....it was EXCELLENT. Thank you HEP of knoxville we'll be seeing you soon for any further needs

A big thank you to Josh Herndon for being persistent and thorough in diagnosing my plumbing issue. He was the hero of the day! Then John and Damien showed up with the heavy equipment and did an amazing job, digging up and replacing a cracked pipe. Josh, John, and Damien resolved my issue and my family is very grateful. Professional, friendly, and they provided amazing service.

The works not been completed as of this post, however, my family and I recently acquired our “forever home”. We found that it needed some work (as to be expected for a 22 year old house). We were having plumbing issues specifically with the basement bathroom. Vladimir Vysotsky not only came out late, but stayed until 2230 hours until he felt he had fully diagnosed our situation with a crushed line likely from tree roots. He seemed very confident, knowledgable, and genuine. Thankful for people like Vladimir who are willing to come out late and do a dirty job to try to keep our lives on track. Great guy.

Connor Haydon, with HEP Plumbing, was fantastic! Very friendly and extremely professional. Arrived on time and used his time wisely. We had multiple issues with our plumbing and he was able to give us several options for addressing the situation. He, unfortunately, ran into a couple of venomous snakes under the house and yet still continued with his work! Definitely would hire again for any future needs. Thanks so much!

We had a sudden and significant underground leak and needed a ditch dug and new water line installed from the meter to the house. Colin came out promptly to diagnose the problem. Austin and Zack came out the next day to do the trench and hookup. The evening hookup was complicated by a new leak. This was caused by an old and inappropriate mixture of valve and pipes in the wall, which was not apparent until it was exposed and disturbed. Colin came out the next day to rebuild that section. In summary, I was impressed by the HEP crew I met, as well as their scheduler. All were very capable and friendly. And HEP was able to act very promptly to remedy a serious situation successfully. Particular thanks go to Colin, Austin and Zack.
