I met Rueben from HEP today concerning a tune-up for my water heater. Because of the age of my water heater, 25 years, and the fact it was working perfectly, I decided due to the valve being plastic and a fear of breaking it not to do the tune-up. Rueben agreed and was kind enough give me a quote on replacing the water heater and showed me a product to keep my drain lines clear. Very nice person and very thorough in his explanation of all that HEP could offer us. Great company and great employees. I also had Zac and Adam replace two bathroom switches, as well as, install a LED light fixture in the shower. They also replaced three outside lights that we had been needing replaced for years. Great young men and are valuable asset to your company. I called HEP at 11:00 a.m., and spoke to a very nice young lady concerning a strong odor of methane gas in our laundry room and upstairs bathroom. She said a plumber would be at my house between 1:00 - 6:00 p.m. today. I received a call at 1:15 p.m. saying the plumbers were on their way. They were here by 1:40 p.m. I met two young who both were named Shaun. They were from our first handshake to our goodbye cordial, congenial, and very knowledgeable. Extremely professional young men. The moment they walked into the bathroom with the strong methane odor they knew what was wrong by asking one question. How often do you run that shower? When I told them rarely, they told me exactly what was wrong. The water in the trap for the shower had evaporated from lack of use and that was allowing the sewer gas that is normally blocked by the water in the trap to leak out of the shower drain. After a few flushes of the toilet and some running of water in the shower, my problem was solved. They took the time to clean out the shower drain and they were finished. I bought the Service Plan because of their honesty and their wonderful demeanor. Shaun and Shaun are credits to your company in many ways. I will use your company again in the future because of this visit. Thank you.

  • Buzzing magnetic ballasts or flickering tubes in basements and offices
  • Uneven exterior illumination causing shadows near pathways or loading docks
  • Hard-to-reach fixtures that require frequent ladder work for bulb changes
  • Goose-neck or can lights that bleed conditioned air into the attic, inflating HVAC costs

HEP’s lighting specialists diagnose these issues during the audit stage, forming the basis of a retrofit roadmap.

HEP’s Electrical Lighting Upgrade Process

In-Depth Lighting Audit

The journey begins with a room-by-room or zone-by-zone evaluation:

  • Measuring existing light levels (lux) versus target values
  • Documenting fixture counts, wattages, and mounting heights
  • Identifying control methods—switches, timers, or automated systems
  • Capturing utility data to calculate baseline consumption

Customized Retrofit Plan

Using audit data, HEP develops a strategy that pairs appropriate technologies with each application:

  • Recommending lumens per task area (kitchens, offices, display cases)
  • Selecting color temperature that complements décor and functional needs
  • Designing control layers—occupancy sensors, dimming profiles, daylight harvesting

Precision Installation

Certified electricians perform installations adhering to strict safety protocols:

  • De-energizing panels, locking out circuits, and verifying zero voltage

  • Article 700 emergency systems for commercial clients

Fire Prevention and Load Management

Upgrading from halogen or incandescent reduces fixture surface temperatures significantly, lowering ignition risks in wood-framed buildings. By balancing circuits and consolidating loads during retrofits, HEP also frees panel capacity for future expansions.

Environmental Impact of Switching to Efficient Lighting

Reduced Carbon Footprint

Every kilowatt-hour saved reduces greenhouse gas emissions generated by electricity production. In aggregate, HEP lighting upgrades across Sevierville:

  • Cut CO₂ output by thousands of pounds annually
  • Help preserve the clarity of Smoky Mountain vistas by minimizing power-plant pollutants

Lower Heat Output

Efficient fixtures emit a fraction of the radiant heat produced by legacy bulbs. Lower room temperatures mean:

  • Air-conditioning systems operate fewer hours
  • Dehumidifiers handle smaller loads, critical in humid southern summers

Maintenance Reduction and Lifecycle Savings

Long-life drivers and LEDs dramatically shrink the frequency of ladder climbs and lift rentals. Facilities teams redirect those hours to higher-value tasks, while homeowners avoid repetitive bulb purchases. The cumulative effect: fewer disruptions and smoother budgeting for consumables.

Aesthetic Transformation Through Lighting Design

Color Rendering and Visual Comfort

High CRI (90+) LEDs allow artwork, wood grains, and fabric textures to appear more vibrant and accurate. In restaurants or hospitality suites, this translates to dishes looking more appetizing and photos capturing the true ambiance.

Layered Lighting Strategies

HEP designers incorporate ambient, task, and accent layers:

  • Recessed downlights establish base illumination
  • Pendant fixtures focus attention on islands or reception counters
