I met Rueben from HEP today concerning a tune-up for my water heater. Because of the age of my water heater, 25 years, and the fact it was working perfectly, I decided due to the valve being plastic and a fear of breaking it not to do the tune-up. Rueben agreed and was kind enough give me a quote on replacing the water heater and showed me a product to keep my drain lines clear. Very nice person and very thorough in his explanation of all that HEP could offer us. Great company and great employees. I also had Zac and Adam replace two bathroom switches, as well as, install a LED light fixture in the shower. They also replaced three outside lights that we had been needing replaced for years. Great young men and are valuable asset to your company. I called HEP at 11:00 a.m., and spoke to a very nice young lady concerning a strong odor of methane gas in our laundry room and upstairs bathroom. She said a plumber would be at my house between 1:00 - 6:00 p.m. today. I received a call at 1:15 p.m. saying the plumbers were on their way. They were here by 1:40 p.m. I met two young who both were named Shaun. They were from our first handshake to our goodbye cordial, congenial, and very knowledgeable. Extremely professional young men. The moment they walked into the bathroom with the strong methane odor they knew what was wrong by asking one question. How often do you run that shower? When I told them rarely, they told me exactly what was wrong. The water in the trap for the shower had evaporated from lack of use and that was allowing the sewer gas that is normally blocked by the water in the trap to leak out of the shower drain. After a few flushes of the toilet and some running of water in the shower, my problem was solved. They took the time to clean out the shower drain and they were finished. I bought the Service Plan because of their honesty and their wonderful demeanor. Shaun and Shaun are credits to your company in many ways. I will use your company again in the future because of this visit. Thank you.

For Bluff City, where climate variations demand reliable indoor environments throughout the year, efficient lighting systems serve as the backbone of an energy-smart building strategy.

HEP’s End-to-End Approach to Lighting Upgrades

HEP delivers comprehensive solutions that go far beyond simply swapping lightbulbs. Each project follows a meticulously planned sequence to maximize performance, compliance, and longevity.

Step 1: Diagnostic Lighting Audit

HEP’s first step involves a thorough on-site audit, collecting baseline data on:

  • Fixture types and wattages.
  • Operating schedules and occupancy patterns.
  • Control methods (switches, dimmers, occupancy sensors).
  • Electrical panel capacities and circuit pathways.
  • Ambient light levels and uniformity across spaces.

By plotting these metrics, HEP gains a clear snapshot of existing conditions and identifies areas with the highest energy wastage or poor illumination.

Step 2: Customized Lighting Design

Armed with audit data, designers craft a tailored upgrade plan:

  • Luminaires are matched to the application—area lighting, task lighting, accent lighting, or high-bay environments.
  • Color temperatures and color rendering indexes (CRI) are fine-tuned to match the building’s purpose: warm, inviting tones for hospitality spaces, or cooler, high-CRI solutions for retail and industrial clarity.
  • Control strategies—daylight harvesting, timed shutoffs, occupancy sensing—are incorporated, ensuring light is available precisely when needed, and silent when it is not.

Step 3: Product Selection and Procurement

HEP sources fixtures and controls that meet performance criteria, regulatory codes, and aesthetic goals. Products are vetted for:

  • UL or ETL listings.
  • DLC (DesignLights Consortium) qualification for rebate eligibility.
  • Long warranty periods.
  • Robust thermal management for extended LED life.

By streamlining procurement through trusted suppliers, HEP shortens lead times so Bluff City customers benefit from quicker project turnarounds.

Step 4: Professional Installation

Experienced electricians perform the retrofit, adhering to National Electrical Code (NEC) standards and any Bluff City municipal ordinances. Install crews take measures to:

  • Minimize disruption to normal operations by scheduling work in phased zones.
  • Protect furnishings and inventory with drop cloths and containment barriers.
  • Dispose of old lamps responsibly, particularly fluorescents that contain trace mercury.

Step 5: Commissioning and Verification

Once installations are complete, HEP’s technicians fine-tune controls, confirm wiring integrity, and conduct photometric tests to validate target light levels. Measurement and verification (M&V) protocols document the actual energy savings, equipping clients with precise figures for internal reporting and potential rebate submissions.

Step 6: Ongoing Support

HEP remains a trusted steward after project hand-off, offering:
