Adam came today to install some new lighting in our kitchen. The previous owners decided to DIY a hideous LED light fixture that had been torturing us with strobe lighting for over a year. We got some new track lights at Lowe’s and called HEP they called us the next day and the day after Adam came out and installed the new fixtures in about two hours. He did a great job and even fixed the orientation of the light switches which are also DIY and backwards. Definitely will use HEP for all our electric needs in the future!

Comprehensive Lighting Audit

Before any luminaires are replaced, HEP technicians conduct a rigorous on-site assessment. The audit phase documents existing fixture locations, wattages, mounting heights, control schemes, and electrical infrastructure capacity. By capturing granular data, HEP engineers create a realistic energy model that forecasts savings and identifies the most strategic upgrade pathways.

Audit deliverables include

  • Room-by-room fixture inventory
  • Photometric readings quantifying current light levels
  • Power usage baseline for ROI calculations
  • Preliminary recommendations categorized by priority and payback period

Design and Specification Expertise

HEP’s design team converts audit findings into a detailed upgrade blueprint. CAD layouts, photometric renderings, and fixture schedules ensure each space receives the ideal balance of illumination and efficiency. Special attention is given to aesthetics, glare reduction, and uniformity to support both visual comfort and brand presentation.

Design considerations routinely addressed

  • Color rendering index (CRI) for accurate color perception in retail, healthcare, and manufacturing zones
  • Correlated color temperature (CCT) selection to promote circadian rhythm alignment in offices and schools
  • Fixture optics and beam angles for precision task lighting in workstations, assembly lines, and laboratory benches

LED Retrofit Solutions

Light-emitting diode technology forms the backbone of most HEP upgrade projects. LEDs offer unmatched energy savings, prolonged lifespan, and superior lumen maintenance compared with fluorescent, halogen, or high-intensity discharge sources. Whether retrofitting existing housings or installing entirely new luminaires, HEP selects LED products rated for local climate conditions and usage patterns.
