I can not stress how much that I appreciate HEP for their assistance on 07/27/2025. Here is the quick story my AC went out at 3 am on Sunday Morning. At 8 am on sunday I called HEP for help. I assumed that I wouldn't get support until the first of the week. Hence my surprise when Hep said they would get to me between 1pm and 6pm. Now as I sat in my sauna of a house i counted down the hours. Alas I got a call from HEP at 545 pm saying that my technician was delayed. I figured at this point I am in for a hot night and it wouldn't be until the AM until i got support. To my pleasant surprise Patrick from HEP showed up at my place at around 9pm. We got my AC repaired and sorted and the price was very reasonable. Hep now has a customer for the rest of the time I live in my house. Do not hesitate to call they can and will help you.

When systems are properly sized, installed, and maintained, households and commercial spaces in Kodak benefit from stable temperatures and reduced energy consumption—areas where HEP’s expertise shines.

Core Air Conditioning Services Offered by HEP

Precision System Installation

A successful installation begins long before the first screw is tightened. HEP technicians perform detailed load calculations, evaluating square footage, insulation values, window orientation, occupancy levels, and ductwork layouts. This data guides the selection of the optimal air conditioning system:

  • Central split systems
  • High-efficiency heat pumps
  • Ductless mini-splits for zoned cooling
  • Packaged rooftop units for light commercial applications

After equipment selection, the team verifies ductwork integrity, installs vibration-isolating pads, calibrates thermostat controls, and conducts end-to-end performance balancing. Each step follows industry best practices, ensuring peak operation from day one.

Scheduled Preventive Maintenance

Routine maintenance is the cornerstone of HVAC longevity. HEP structures maintenance visits to address Kodak’s specific environmental factors—pollen in spring, high humidity in midsummer, and furnace prep in autumn. Standard service checklists include:

  • Cleaning condenser coils and evaporator coils
  • Replacing or cleaning air filters to sustain airflow
  • Checking refrigerant charge and adjusting if necessary
  • Tightening electrical connections and inspecting contactors
  • Lubricating blower motors and verifying fan belt tension
  • Testing thermostat calibration and recalibrating when needed
  • Measuring amperage draw to detect failing components early

This proactive strategy mitigates breakdowns during peak cooling or heating demand, offering residents peace of mind throughout the year.

Rapid Diagnostics and Repair

Even well-maintained systems occasionally develop issues: compressor short cycling, refrigerant leaks, thermostat malfunctions, or blower motor failures. HEP’s technicians employ systematic diagnostic protocols:

  1. Interview occupants for symptom history
  2. Check error codes and thermostat history logs
  3. Inspect high-voltage and low-voltage circuits
  4. Perform thermal imaging on suspect components
  5. Validate refrigerant pressures against manufacturer specifications

Once the root cause is identified, the team executes targeted repairs with OEM-authorized parts to preserve warranty compliance and long-term reliability.

Heating Expertise for Kodak Winters

High-Efficiency Furnace Installation

Gas furnaces remain popular in Kodak for their fast heat delivery. HEP installs high-AFUE (Annual Fuel Utilization Efficiency) models, which convert up to 98 % of fuel into heat. Key installation considerations include:

  • Proper venting and combustion air provisions
  • Precise gas line sizing and leak testing
  • Sealed combustion design for energy efficiency and safety
  • Smart thermostat integration for adaptive heating schedules

Heat Pump Upgrades

For homes seeking year-round efficiency, heat pumps provide both heating and cooling with a single outdoor unit. Variable-speed compressor technology allows these systems to modulate capacity, maintaining consistent indoor temperatures while using less electricity. HEP assesses insulation levels and ducting to determine compatibility, ensuring optimal performance during Kodak’s mild spring and fall days as well as frigid nights.

Dual Fuel Solutions

Kodak’s temperature swings can outpace the economical operating range of a stand-alone heat pump. Dual fuel configurations pair a heat pump with a high-efficiency gas furnace. The heat pump handles moderate temperatures, switching to the gas furnace only when outdoor conditions drop below a set balance point. HEP customizes control algorithms so homeowners enjoy the lowest possible operating costs without sacrificing comfort.

Indoor Air Quality Enhancements

Whole-House Dehumidification

High humidity intensifies the perceived heat during summer, strains cooling equipment, and can foster mold growth. Integrated dehumidifiers maintain indoor relative humidity between 30 % and 50 %, reducing the burden on the air conditioner and improving occupant comfort.

Media and HEPA Filtration

Dust, pet dander, and pollen are common triggers of respiratory discomfort. HEP installs high-MERV media filters and HEPA bypass systems that capture particulates down to 0.3 microns, delivering cleaner air to sensitive occupants.

UV Germicidal Lights

Ultraviolet lamps positioned near the evaporator coil eliminate microbial buildup. This not only maintains coil efficiency but also prevents airborne transmission of bacteria and viruses through ductwork.

Tailored Solutions for Residential and Small Commercial Clients

Zoned Temperature Control

Larger homes or offices often contain areas with distinct heating and cooling needs—upper floors, south-facing rooms, or spaces with large equipment heat loads. HEP engineers zoned systems using motorized dampers and dedicated thermostats. Benefits include:

  • Reduced energy consumption by conditioning only occupied zones
  • Customized comfort levels for diverse occupant preferences
  • Balanced airflow that alleviates hot or cold spots

Smart Thermostat Programming

Modern thermostats learn occupancy patterns and adjust setpoints accordingly. HEP configures:

  • Geofencing features that reduce conditioning when the building is empty
  • Adaptive recovery to achieve target temperatures with minimal energy use
  • Voice-assisted controls compatible with popular smart home platforms

Ductwork Sealing and Insulation

In Tennessee homes, duct leakage can account for up to 30 % of conditioned air loss. HEP technicians conduct blower door and duct blaster tests to quantify leakage, then apply:

  • Aeroseal or mastic sealing for gaps and loose connections
  • Reflective insulation for attic duct runs
  • R-8 or greater exterior duct insulation to minimize thermal transfer

The net result is improved comfort, lower utility bills, and enhanced HVAC efficiency.

Energy Efficiency and Sustainability

High-SEER Air Conditioners

Seasonal Energy Efficiency Ratio (SEER) ratings quantify cooling output relative to electricity use. HEP recommends units with SEER2 ratings exceeding regional standards, often between 16 and 20. These systems feature:

  • Two-stage or variable-speed compressors
  • ECM (electronically commutated) blower motors
  • Enhanced coil designs with microchannel technology

Eco-Friendly Refrigerants

Next-generation refrigerants like R-32 and R-454B possess lower Global Warming Potential (GWP) than legacy R-410A. When installing new systems, HEP prioritizes models designed for these greener refrigerants, positioning homeowners for future regulatory compliance and reduced environmental impact.

Heat Recovery Ventilation

Tightly sealed buildings can trap pollutants and moisture. Heat Recovery Ventilators (HRVs) exchange stale indoor air with fresh outdoor air while capturing up to 80 % of the outgoing thermal energy. This maintains ventilation standards without burdening heating or cooling equipment.

Certifications and Technical Proficiency

HEP’s technicians maintain industry credentials that underscore technical expertise:

  • NATE (North American Technician Excellence) certifications for air conditioning, gas furnaces, and heat pumps
  • EPA Section 608 certifications for safe refrigerant handling
  • Ongoing factory training on emerging technologies and equipment models

These qualifications translate into accurate diagnostics, code-compliant installations, and efficient corrective actions.
