FAQs

What services do you offer in Seymour?

We offer a comprehensive range of plumbing services in Seymour, including pipe installation and repair, drain cleaning, water heater installation and repair, leak detection, sewer line services, and emergency plumbing services. Our team of licensed plumbers is equipped to handle both residential and commercial plumbing needs.

Do you provide emergency plumbing services?

Yes, we provide 24/7 emergency plumbing services in Seymour. Plumbing issues can occur at any time, and our team is ready to respond quickly to handle urgent problems such as burst pipes, severe leaks, and blocked drains to prevent further damage to your property.

How can I prevent my pipes from freezing during winter?

To prevent your pipes from freezing, you can take several steps: insulate your pipes, particularly those in unheated areas, keep your home warm by setting the thermostat to no lower than 55°F, allow faucets to drip slightly during extreme cold, and seal any cracks or openings where cold air can enter. If you're leaving town, it’s advisable to have someone check your home regularly or drain the plumbing system.

What are the signs that I need a new water heater?

Signs that you may need a new water heater include: inconsistent water temperature, strange noises coming from the unit, rusty or discolored water, water pooling around the base of the water heater, and frequent repairs. If your water heater is over 10-15 years old, it might be more cost-effective to replace it rather than continue with frequent repairs.

Why are my drains frequently clogging?

Frequent drain clogs can be caused by several factors: improperly disposing of grease, food particles, hair, soap scum, or foreign objects in the drains. Tree roots can also invade sewer lines, causing blockages. Regular maintenance like using drain screens, being mindful of what goes down the drain, and periodic professional cleanings can help prevent clogs.

How can I find out if I have a leak in my plumbing system?

Signs of a leak in your plumbing system include unusually high water bills, damp spots on walls, ceilings, or floors, mold or mildew growth, and the sound of running water when no fixtures are in use. You can also check your water meter: take a reading, avoid using water for a few hours, and then take another reading. If the meter reading has changed, you likely have a leak. For precise leak detection and repair, it’s best to call a professional plumber.

What our customers say

I moved to Knoxville almost two years ago and have used HEP for all of my plumbing and HVAC needs including replacement of my water service line and my entire plumbing system. The latest project was the replacement of my existing aged electric heat pump with a Trane split AC and gas heating unit. The final product was a five star installation; however, they had to come back to make some major final adjustments. Their employees are always courteous and professional. I will continue to use HEP for all of my needs.

OCTOBER, 2017 During a routine inspection on 10/20/17 as part of my new annual maintenance agreement begun in June of this year (see below), a technician verified what I already knew to be the case--I would have to replace my central heating/cooling system. My sales representative Gary, following an in-depth review of available options, led me successfully through the selection, purchase and installation scheduling for my new Carrier system. On October 26, 2017, the new system was installed by an excellent team of technicians--Joe Brown and Dart Crenans I could rate and review one by one so many of the usual areas of concern such as promptness, professionalism, personality, technical ability, etc. (all of which on a scale of 1-10 both would rate solid 10's), but let me make it simple--whatever it is one hopes for, expects, even demands in the area of service, multiply that by 10 (at least) and you have my final assessment score specifically for these two fine young men but applicable as well for all staff with whom I've been at contact at HEP, Inc. JUNE, 2017 My service was done on 06/09/17 in order to ( how can I put this ?) fix a "home-owner created plumbing problem". The service done by Jonathan Harter, along with David, was far beyond what I expected. . Totally understanding of my situation . Totally professional . Totally personable After the visit, I decided to opt for the annual maintenance program. When the time comes, I can only hope to have my new service performed as well as that performed recently by these two young representatives of HEP. Thanks so much.

After calling several local plumbers, finally called HEP... very helpful young lady answered and set up a plumber to come out the same day. We had been out of water all day and Nathan Hardesty showed just after 7 pm, as he said he would and went right to work. In just over 30 minutes he had crawled under my house and fixed the problem. Very pleasant young man as was his helper. The price was a little higher than I anticipated, but well worth it since I didn't have to crawl under the house. Future needs will call HEP again and hope they send Nathan and his partner out again.

Just had HEP out today to replace our outside spicket. We called the day before about the issue and they promptly came out next day and fixed same day. That is what I call excellence service!! We had a man named Jon come out and he was the nicest guy. Very friendly and quickly fixed our problem. Will definitely be using HEP for future needs and will be telling others of our great experience.

Our tech Brad was right on time and extremely helpful with our situation. He gave us advice and helped us through the service process. Very well mannered and just sustained the impression we already had of HEP. We were not gouged like some plumbers will do. I highly recommend HEP as we have had our Air conditioning replaced and this plumbing call. Both reasonably priced and the service has been great!

I would highly recommend James Bai at HEP to pump out your septic tank. He was very professional and made sure our tank was up and running like new (as much as possible that is). He was also very knowledgeable when I asked questions on how to help maintain our system.

Hep came out the same day for a septic drain problem. Their technicians, Will and John, came out and accessed and fixed the problem in no time flat. Very professional and courteous. They deserve a pat on the back. Thank you.

Nathan analyzed the problem quickly and accurately (drywall anchors holding sink on wall had broken through the sheet rock after 30 months of using the sink)and effected repairs in about 90 minutes. He found 2 studs he could use which should make for a much stronger mount.
