What our customers say

I am writing you to let you know how well your company was represented today. Your dispatch sent two techs to our home to investigate our HVAC problem. I was impressed with their knowledge and relaxed manor. They quickly determined the issues and presented me with the options. They did not try to rush me or rush through the service call. This time of year, I know you are in high demand. I had just paid our annual maintenance contract with our current service company. We have been using them for a number of years. Our downstairs HVAC system started acting up Saturday evening. Back in February the tech added 2 pounds of Freon to the downstairs unit and said I needed a $450.00 leak check, and he would have the office call and schedule it. They did not. That was the 2nd time they failed to follow up within the last 2 years. Then on the current service call, the tech told me my compressor was most likely bad, “it had open windings”, and it needed to be replaced. He might be able to get it to work briefly, but that would be wasting money. The ball park price for installing another compressor would be around $1800. He would have the office contact me with the actual price. Two days later, and we had not heard from them. Meantime, we had no HVAC downstairs. I decided to call another service provider. An internet search brought your listing up. That and your current TV ad campaign made me decide to give your company a try. Your techs were able to identify the problem as a defective start capacitor and a weak run capacitor. Your techs made a great first impression for your company. I feel they went above and beyond what they had to do. After the compressor started running the pressures were all in the normal ranges which indicates that if I have a leak it is most likely very small. I have decided to go with your company as our HVAC service provider. It will be up to the future techs that your dispatch sends to keep my business. If they are as nice and helpful as those today were, then I’m sure we will do fine together.

The tech showed up in the timeframe they promised. Curteous, friendly service. He dug around in his truck to find as many coupons as he could for me. The salesperson showed up shortly after as I needed a new HVAC unit. The install team called the next morning in the timeframe promised to let me know they'd be there shortly. Everything was checked to make sure it was working properly before they left. All trash and mess and old equipment was hauled away. HEP isn't the cheapest in town but I've dealt with the cheapest and prefer to get service I can trust for a little more. All options were explained to me with their recommendations so I felt free to decline their suggestion if I chose.

From routine maintenance to complete system replacements, HEP’s technicians deliver precision workmanship backed by industry-leading training and a commitment to long-term performance.

The Role of Reliable AC in Fayetteville’s Climate

Northwest Arkansas experiences high temperatures and frequent humidity spikes from late spring through early fall. Without a properly tuned air conditioner, homes and businesses can quickly turn into uncomfortable spaces where mold, allergens, and excess moisture thrive. HEP focuses on proactive strategies that sustain optimal indoor temperatures while also protecting HVAC equipment from premature wear.

Key Benefits of Choosing HEP for Air Conditioning Work

  • Consistent indoor comfort even during heat waves
  • Lower utility bills through energy-saving techniques
  • Extended equipment lifespan with preventive maintenance
  • Cleaner indoor air thanks to advanced filtration and airflow balancing
  • Reduced likelihood of emergency breakdowns

Complete Air Conditioning Services Offered by HEP

A single malfunctioning component can ripple through the entire HVAC system. HEP’s service menu addresses every aspect of air conditioning performance, ensuring cohesive, reliable operation.

Precision Diagnostic Assessments

Before making repairs or adjustments, HEP technicians begin with state-of-the-art diagnostic tools. These tools pinpoint inefficiencies such as:

  • Low refrigerant levels
  • Blocked condenser coils
  • Worn blower motors
  • Faulty electrical connections
  • Thermostat miscalibrations

By identifying the root cause rather than treating symptoms, HEP delivers solutions that last.

Preventive Maintenance Plans

Regular upkeep is the cornerstone of year-round comfort. A typical HEP maintenance visit includes:

  • Inspecting and cleaning evaporator and condenser coils
  • Replacing or cleaning air filters
  • Testing thermostat accuracy
  • Checking refrigerant charge and pressure levels
  • Tightening electrical connections
  • Lubricating moving parts
  • Measuring airflow and static pressure

This holistic approach keeps systems running at peak efficiency while catching minor issues before they lead to costly downtime.

Emergency Repair Service

When Fayetteville temperatures soar, even a brief AC outage can feel unbearable. HEP’s rapid-response repair team restores cooling swiftly and safely, focusing on long-term stability rather than quick temporary fixes. Equipped trucks and access to a broad parts inventory shorten turnaround times, minimizing occupant discomfort and preventing secondary damage such as drywall moisture intrusion.

System Replacement and Installation

Inefficient, aging air conditioners can silently drain electricity and struggle to maintain target temperatures. When replacement becomes the most economical option, HEP guides property owners through each step:

  • Heat-load calculations to select properly sized units
  • Product recommendations based on desired SEER ratings, budget, and space requirements
  • Professional removal and eco-friendly disposal of old equipment
  • Precise installation that meets or exceeds manufacturer specifications
  • Post-installation performance verification and homeowner orientation

Indoor Air Quality Enhancements

Modern air conditioning is about more than temperature control. HEP integrates indoor air quality (IAQ) solutions directly into HVAC designs:

  • High-efficiency particulate (HEPA) filters
  • UV germicidal lamps
  • Whole-house dehumidifiers
  • Fresh-air ventilators
  • MERV-rated media filters

These upgrades reduce allergens, bacterial growth, and volatile organic compounds (VOCs), creating healthier living and working environments.

Ductwork Services

Leaky or poorly insulated ducts can waste up to 30% of conditioned air. HEP’s ductwork expertise covers:

  • Sealing gaps with mastic or specialized tapes
  • Adding or replacing insulation to curb thermal losses
  • Reconfiguring ducts for balanced airflow
  • Cleaning debris and microbial buildup

Properly tuned ducts enhance comfort in every room and reduce energy consumption.

Specialized Expertise in Energy Efficiency

High-Efficiency Equipment Selection

A new air conditioner is an investment expected to last 10–15 years or longer. HEP evaluates efficiency ratings such as SEER2, EER, and ENERGY STAR certification to match homeowners with the Ideal systems for Fayetteville’s climate. High-efficiency units typically feature:

  • Variable-speed compressors
  • Multi-stage fan motors
  • Advanced coil designs for superior heat exchange

Smart Thermostat Integration

Thermostat technology has evolved beyond simple on-off cycling. Smart devices learn user habits, adjust set points automatically, and provide remote control from mobile apps. HEP installs and configures smart thermostats to:

  • Optimize temperature schedules
  • Monitor humidity levels
  • Provide energy-use analytics
  • Integrate with voice assistants and home automation platforms

Load Calculations and Right-Sizing

Oversizing may cause short cycling, humidity issues, and higher energy bills, while undersizing strains equipment and struggles to meet demand. HEP performs Manual J load calculations, considering:

  • Square footage and layout
  • Insulation R-values
  • Window orientation and shading
  • Occupant density
  • Air infiltration rates

Proper sizing aligns capacity with actual cooling requirements, maximizing comfort and efficiency.

The HEP Service Process Step by Step

1. Initial Consultation

HEP’s project managers gather details about property size, insulation, occupant preferences, and any existing HVAC concerns. Pictures and measurements are taken for accurate planning.

2. Comprehensive Inspection

By examining both indoor and outdoor units, electrical connections, duct condition, and thermostat placement, HEP gains a clear snapshot of system health.

3. Customized Solution Proposal

Based on inspection findings, technicians present tailored recommendations. These may include repair options, component upgrades, or full replacements, complete with efficiency benchmarks to illustrate potential savings.

4. Implementation and Testing

Skilled installers carry out the agreed-upon work using manufacturer-approved methods. Post-work testing validates:

  • Refrigerant charge accuracy
  • Voltage and amperage within safe limits
  • Proper airflow over coils
  • Thermostat function and calibration

5. Client Education

A final walkthrough familiarizes property owners with new features, maintenance intervals, and system operation best practices, promoting long-term reliability.

Common Air Conditioning Issues Addressed by HEP

Reduced Cooling Capacity

Symptoms include warm air from vents, inconsistent room temperatures, and extended runtime. Causes often involve:

  • Clogged air filters
  • Refrigerant leaks
  • Dirty condenser coils
  • Compressor malfunction

Timely service restores proper BTU output and prevents energy waste.

Short Cycling

Rapid on-off cycles shorten component lifespan and spike electricity consumption. HEP inspects for:

  • Oversized systems
  • Thermostat placement errors
  • Frozen evaporator coils
  • Blocked condenser fins

High Humidity Indoors

Excess moisture can warp wood, foster mold, and make occupants feel warmer. HEP remedies humidity issues through:

  • Correct fan speed adjustments
  • Whole-house dehumidifier installation
  • Coil cleaning for better heat absorption
  • Proper refrigerant charge balancing

Strange Noises or Odors

Rattling, buzzing, grinding, or musty smells often signal developing faults such as loose parts, motor issues, or microbial growth. Addressing these early prevents major breakdowns.

Indoor Air Quality and Comfort Beyond Temperature

The Link Between HVAC and Respiratory Health

Dust mites, pet dander, and pollen can circulate through poorly managed systems. HEP’s IAQ solutions mitigate triggers for allergies and asthma, ensuring:

  • Reduced airborne contaminants
  • Balanced humidity to discourage mold
  • Odor control through activated-carbon filters

Balanced Ventilation Strategies

Tight building envelopes increase energy efficiency but may also trap pollutants. HEP installs energy-recovery ventilators (ERVs) that exchange stale indoor air with fresh outdoor air while maintaining temperature stability.

Whole-Home Zoning

By dividing living spaces into independent zones, occupants can set unique temperature targets for bedrooms, living areas, and basements. Benefits include:

  • Personalized comfort
  • Lower overall energy use
  • Reduced strain on HVAC components

Preparing Fayetteville Homes for Seasonal Transitions

Spring Tune-Ups

As air conditioners gear up for heavy summer workloads, spring is the ideal time for a system check. HEP technicians:

  • Verify refrigerant levels
  • Inspect outdoor units for winter debris
  • Calibrate thermostats
  • Replace filters

Fall System Evaluations

While Fayetteville winters are milder than summers, heating elements still require attention. Dual-purpose heat pumps receive a comprehensive assessment to guarantee seamless transitions between cooling and heating modes.

Sustainable Practices in Air Conditioning

Eco-Friendly Refrigerants

Environmental regulations phase out older refrigerants that contribute to ozone depletion. HEP uses modern, low-impact refrigerants compatible with current equipment standards.

Recycling Old Components

From metal casings to copper coils, HEP follows responsible disposal and recycling procedures, diverting waste from landfills and minimizing ecological footprints.

Why Timely AC Service Matters

Ignoring minor performance dips can lead to major system failures. Regular service:

  • Decreases total ownership costs
  • Prevents mid-season emergencies
  • Enhances occupant comfort and productivity
  • Safeguards indoor air quality

In Fayetteville’s unpredictable weather, staying ahead of maintenance schedules is the surest path to uninterrupted comfort.

Comfort Technology Advancements Adopted by HEP

Variable Refrigerant Flow (VRF) Systems

Rather than switching on at full capacity, VRF systems modulate refrigerant flow to match real-time demands. Benefits include:

  • Higher part-load efficiency
  • Precise temperature control in individual zones
  • Quiet operation

Inverter-Driven Compressors

Traditional compressors operate in binary mode: on or off. Inverter technology allows continuous speed adjustments, smoothing temperature swings and lowering energy use.

Advanced Filtration Media

Beyond standard fiberglass filters, HEP deploys options such as pleated MERV-13 cartridges and electrostatic filters that capture smaller particles, extending time between changes and boosting IAQ.

Ensuring Longevity: Homeowner Maintenance Tips

While professional service is crucial, daily habits also affect system health.

  • Keep supply and return vents clear of furniture and rugs
  • Trim vegetation at least two feet away from outdoor condensers
  • Replace filters every one to three months
  • Program thermostats to moderate temperatures when spaces are unoccupied
  • Listen for unusual sounds and schedule inspections promptly if detected

Mindful routines complement professional maintenance, amplifying efficiency and preventing avoidable damage.
