What our customers say

I am writing you to let you know how well your company was represented today. Your dispatch sent two techs to our home to investigate our HVAC problem. I was impressed with their knowledge and relaxed manor. They quickly determined the issues and presented me with the options. They did not try to rush me or rush through the service call. This time of year, I know you are in high demand. I had just paid our annual maintenance contract with our current service company. We have been using them for a number of years. Our downstairs HVAC system started acting up Saturday evening. Back in February the tech added 2 pounds of Freon to the downstairs unit and said I needed a $450.00 leak check, and he would have the office call and schedule it. They did not. That was the 2nd time they failed to follow up within the last 2 years. Then on the current service call, the tech told me my compressor was most likely bad, “it had open windings”, and it needed to be replaced. He might be able to get it to work briefly, but that would be wasting money. The ball park price for installing another compressor would be around $1800. He would have the office contact me with the actual price. Two days later, and we had not heard from them. Meantime, we had no HVAC downstairs. I decided to call another service provider. An internet search brought your listing up. That and your current TV ad campaign made me decide to give your company a try. Your techs were able to identify the problem as a defective start capacitor and a weak run capacitor. Your techs made a great first impression for your company. I feel they went above and beyond what they had to do. After the compressor started running the pressures were all in the normal ranges which indicates that if I have a leak it is most likely very small. I have decided to go with your company as our HVAC service provider. It will be up to the future techs that your dispatch sends to keep my business. If they are as nice and helpful as those today were, then I’m sure we will do fine together.

95 degrees and my air goes out! Three hours later George arrives. I took only five minutes and all was working. George must have done the repair a million times because he knew just what it was. The repair was $327 but it beat paying $3,000 for a new compressor! George was friendly and had a big smile. I would highly recommend HEP.!!!!

When we found out we needed a new heat/air system, we got 10 estimates. It took weeks, but was worth it, because we chose HEP. Got a great deal, no interest, for a certain time, on payments, and great service. The crew that came out, to this old house, just started in, never stopped, did a great job, and cleaned up after themselves, didn't leave a scrap of material anywhere. Love this kind of service, and will call HEP again! Thank you, to the "crew", also.

Understanding Englewood’s Unique Climate Demands

Nestled along Colorado’s Front Range, Englewood experiences a distinct blend of semi-arid and alpine climate influences. Summer afternoons often climb above 90 °F, while winter nights can dip well below freezing. These rapid temperature swings place a heavy workload on heating and air conditioning systems alike. Air conditioning equipment in Englewood must manage intense solar gain, low humidity, and occasional dust carried on gusty Chinook winds. Conversely, furnaces and heat pumps face extended periods of sub-zero windchill, requiring dependable heating capacity.

HEP Company designs its heating and air conditioning services around these local realities. By calibrating equipment for Englewood’s elevation, pressure, and humidity, HEP helps residential and light-commercial clients achieve dependable comfort year-round.

Why Professional Air Conditioning Service Matters

A modern air conditioning system incorporates refrigeration science, electrical engineering, airflow dynamics, and digital control logic. When any element falters, the result can be:

  • Uneven cooling or “hot spots”
  • Excess indoor humidity
  • Escalating energy bills
  • Mechanical wear that shortens equipment life
  • Risk of refrigerant leaks or electrical hazards

Professional servicing from HEP addresses each of these concerns proactively. The company’s certified technicians test, clean, calibrate, and repair components using industry-leading procedures, ensuring that the entire HVAC ecosystem operates in harmony.

HEP’s approach covers the full spectrum of air conditioning needs in Englewood. Whether a homeowner seeks prompt repairs after a compressor failure or a property manager wants to upgrade to high-efficiency equipment, HEP provides a clear pathway to reliable indoor comfort.

Preventive Maintenance

Regular maintenance is the cornerstone of long-term system health. HEP’s technicians:

  • Inspect coils, blower assemblies, and drainage to eliminate airflow restrictions
  • Verify refrigerant charge and correct subcool/superheat values
  • Tighten electrical connections to mitigate voltage drop and overheating
  • Replace or clean filters to protect evaporator coils from dust accumulation
  • Calibrate thermostats and smart controls for precise temperature regulation

A well-executed maintenance visit can restore lost capacity, improve energy efficiency, and prevent major breakdowns when Englewood’s summer heat peaks.

Diagnostic Repair

Even premium equipment occasionally encounters faults. HEP’s service vans carry an extensive inventory of replacement parts for swift on-site fixes. Technicians employ digital multimeters, refrigerant analyzers, and thermal imaging to pinpoint issues such as:

  • Shorted capacitors or contactors
  • Refrigerant leaks in copper lines or evaporators
  • Blower motor failures
  • Thermostat sensor errors
  • Clogged condensate lines causing water damage

By resolving problems at the component level, HEP minimizes downtime and postpones the need for full system replacement.

New System Installation

When repair costs eclipse the value of aging systems, HEP guides clients through the installation process. Key steps include:

  • Manual J load calculations tailored to Englewood’s altitude and insulation values
  • Ductwork assessment to eliminate restrictions and leaks
  • Equipment sizing that balances peak cooling demand with off-peak efficiency

A correctly sized and installed system reduces lifecycle costs and improves dehumidification—critical in Englewood’s often dry climate.

Indoor Air Quality Enhancements

Air conditioners do more than just cool. With the right accessories, they also purify and balance indoor air. HEP recommends and installs:

  • MERV-rated media filters
  • UV-C germicidal lamps to neutralize pathogens
  • Whole-house humidifiers to counteract Colorado’s low ambient humidity
  • Energy recovery ventilators (ERVs) for fresh air without compromising efficiency

These add-ons create a healthier environment, particularly for occupants with allergies or respiratory sensitivities.

Energy-Efficiency Upgrades

Utility costs in Englewood can fluctuate with seasonal demand. HEP offers:

  • High-SEER condensing units
  • Smart thermostats with geofencing and adaptive algorithms
  • Duct sealing to curb conditioned air loss
  • Insulation enhancements targeted around return plenums and attics

The cumulative effect helps property owners conserve energy and align with local sustainability goals.

Signs Your Air Conditioning System Needs Attention

Englewood residents often notice subtle warnings before a major failure occurs. Recognizing these early can prevent discomfort during a summer heat wave:

  • Warm air blowing from vents despite thermostat set to cool
  • Frequent cycling or system unable to reach set temperature
  • Unusual rattling, buzzing, or grinding noises
  • Musty odors or visible mold around registers
  • Unexpected spikes in monthly utility statements
  • Ice formation on refrigerant lines or evaporator coil

When any of these symptoms arise, HEP recommends scheduling a diagnostic visit to avert more extensive damage.

Seasonal Heating Services Complementing Air Conditioning

Although the focus here is cooling, Englewood’s winters demand equally robust heating solutions. HEP provides furnace and heat pump services that dovetail with summer air conditioning support:

  • Combustion analysis and heat exchanger inspections
  • High-altitude gas pressure adjustments
  • Dual-fuel system optimization to transition seamlessly between electric and gas heating
  • Boiler maintenance for hydronic systems

A holistic view of year-round comfort ensures both heating and air conditioning components operate in concert, maximizing performance and lifespan.

Sustainable and Energy-Efficient Solutions

Environmental stewardship is increasingly important to Englewood homeowners. HEP addresses sustainability through:

  • R-32 and R-454B refrigerant options with lower global warming potential (GWP)
  • Variable-refrigerant-flow (VRF) mini-split systems that modulate output precisely
