I can not stress how much that I appreciate HEP for their assistance on 07/27/2025. Here is the quick story my AC went out at 3 am on Sunday Morning. At 8 am on sunday I called HEP for help. I assumed that I wouldn't get support until the first of the week. Hence my surprise when Hep said they would get to me between 1pm and 6pm. Now as I sat in my sauna of a house i counted down the hours. Alas I got a call from HEP at 545 pm saying that my technician was delayed. I figured at this point I am in for a hot night and it wouldn't be until the AM until i got support. To my pleasant surprise Patrick from HEP showed up at my place at around 9pm. We got my AC repaired and sorted and the price was very reasonable. Hep now has a customer for the rest of the time I live in my house. Do not hesitate to call they can and will help you.

I was experiencing an ongoing issue with my new AC unit. Sebastian Arcila addressed went above and beyond to make things right. Even though it required more work, and redoing work that had been previously done, he made sure that all our issues were addressed. The work he provided was very neat and clean, and he thoroughly explained everything that was done. We appreciate Sebastian for taking the time to do things right.

We needed a repair to our AC system at the peak of last summer's heat and HEP were the only folks who were able to come out (or even answer the phone, for that matter). They actually managed to get someone to our place that same day and relieve our 95° misery. So I was quick to consider them last week when we had more trouble with our 10-year-old system this spring. Again they were very responsive - and although they weren't able to fix the problem right then (a combination of factors necessitated a more extensive replacement) they promptly quoted the more involved work that was needed. I considered other options for a couple of days without seeing an obvious better choice that was available to do the work, then called to say I was ready to hire HEP for the work. Bob Mathews promptly came to my workplace to finalize all the details of the proposal with me... and then arranged for the work to begin within two days, even though it was an awkward downtown job the would require a crane for roof access. When the actual day of work came I had a last minute panic about the specific equipment choice we'd made and Bob was quick to answer the phone and go over the details again, clarifying my area of uncertainty. The team who came to do the actual installation of our new coils and condenser unit consisted of Tommy Fitzgerald and Joshua McCarty, both excellent guys. They were intent on doing a thorough job and communicating what they were up to as they did it. My wife and I both felt completely comfortable with them. All in all this was a great experience, even though it involved suddenly having to spend a bit of cash we weren't expecting to. Thanks Bob, Joe, Tommy, and Joshua - it's great to have working AC again!

95 degrees and my air goes out! Three hours later George arrives. I took only five minutes and all was working. George must have done the repair a million times because he knew just what it was. The repair was $327 but it beat paying $3,000 for a new compressor! George was friendly and had a big smile. I would highly recommend HEP.!!!!

Expert Heat Repair Services in New Market

HEP Company delivers professional heating and air conditioning heat repair work throughout New Market, ensuring dependable comfort for homeowners and property managers alike. Every winter, frigid Appalachian drafts travel through the valleys, making a fully functional heating system more than a luxury—it is a necessity. HEP’s certified technicians combine local insight with advanced diagnostics, restoring warmth quickly and reliably.

Local Expertise That Makes a Difference

  • Familiarity with New Market’s varying elevations and micro-climates
  • Knowledge of common regional fuel types, including natural gas, propane, and electric heat pumps
  • Adaptation to older farmhouses and newer energy-efficient builds alike

Because every property in Jefferson County has its own quirks—tight crawl space ductwork, attic furnaces, basement boilers—HEP tailors each repair to the physical constraints and lifestyle demands of the homeowner.

Why Timely Heating Repairs Matter

A malfunctioning furnace or heat pump rarely fails at a convenient moment. Delayed repairs can trigger a cascade of complications that go far beyond a chilly living room.

Escalating Damage

  • Overheating motors may warp internal components
  • Cracked heat exchangers can compromise system integrity
  • Refrigerant leaks in dual fuel systems lower efficiency and damage compressors

Addressing faults at the first sign of trouble prevents small issues from spiraling into costly breakdowns.

Health and Safety Considerations

  • Carbon monoxide risks from damaged combustion chambers
  • Mold growth in improperly heated, humid spaces
  • Slip hazards as residents resort to portable heaters and humidifiers

HEP technicians prioritize safe, code-compliant solutions that protect both property and occupant well-being.

Common Heating Issues Serviced by HEP

New Market’s mixed inventory of equipment means HEP tackles everything from classic gas furnaces to high-tech inverter heat pumps. Below are some of the most frequent problems resolved on service calls:

Ignition and Pilot Failures

  • Faulty hot-surface igniters
  • Dirty pilot assemblies
  • Malfunctioning flame sensors

Thermostat Inaccuracies

  • Mis-calibration leading to temperature swings
  • Frayed low-voltage wiring behind walls
  • Outdated mercury thermostats incompatible with modern modulating furnaces

Airflow Restrictions

  • Clogged pleated filters or return grilles
  • Collapsed flexible ducts in crawl spaces
  • Slipping blower belts reducing circulation

Mechanical Wear

  • Bearing noise in PSC blower motors
  • Worn inducer motor shafts
  • Broken fan blades in outdoor condenser sections of heat pumps

Refrigerant Imbalances

  • Subtle leaks at flare fittings
  • Undersized line sets from older retrofits
  • Non-condensables trapped in the system after improper charging

By categorizing each symptom, HEP speeds up root-cause identification and reduces downtime.

Detailed Heat Repair Process Followed by HEP

While every call is unique, HEP adheres to a proven multistep method that guarantees consistent outcomes.

1. Comprehensive System Evaluation

Technicians begin with visual inspection, then proceed to instrument readings:

  • Static pressure measurements across the air handler
  • Combustion analysis for proper fuel-to-air ratios
  • Voltage and amperage checks on all motors and controls

2. Precise Diagnosis

Data is cross-referenced with manufacturer specifications to pinpoint deviations. Rather than swapping parts indiscriminately, HEP isolates the failing component to preserve system integrity.

3. Corrective Action

Repairs may include:

  • Replacing defective igniters or pressure switches
  • Brazing copper refrigerant lines and vacuuming to sub-500 micron levels
  • Balancing blower wheels and tightening set screws

Quality replacement parts come from trusted distribution channels to ensure long service life.

4. Performance Verification

Post-repair, the technician retests:

  • Temperature rise through the furnace or heat pump coils
  • Refrigerant superheat and subcool levels
  • Carbon monoxide output at the flue

This validation confirms the equipment operates at optimum efficiency before the technician departs.

5. Homeowner Education

A clear, jargon-free summary explains:

  • What failed and why
  • How to change filters or clear outdoor units
  • Recommended maintenance intervals

Empowered residents notice early warning signs and avoid future emergencies.

The Role of Preventive Maintenance

Routine checkups significantly decrease unexpected outages—especially during New Market’s temperature swings.

Key Tasks in a Preventive Visit

  • Inspecting heat exchanger surfaces for micro-cracks
  • Cleaning condensate traps and neutralizer kits
  • Lubricating motor bearings specified as “oilable” by the manufacturer
  • Updating firmware in smart communicating furnaces

Seasonal Scheduling Tips

  • Early autumn visits catch problems before first heat cycle
  • Late spring inspections prepare heat pumps for cooling duty
  • Mid-winter filter reminders keep airflow unobstructed during peak demand

A structured maintenance plan maintains efficiency, safety, and warranty compliance.

Understanding Modern Heating Technology

Heating equipment has evolved dramatically. HEP technicians keep pace through continuous training, ensuring New Market homes benefit from the latest innovations.

High-Efficiency Gas Furnaces

  • Two-stage and modulating gas valves adapt BTU output to load
