I can not stress how much that I appreciate HEP for their assistance on 07/27/2025. Here is the quick story my AC went out at 3 am on Sunday Morning. At 8 am on sunday I called HEP for help. I assumed that I wouldn't get support until the first of the week. Hence my surprise when Hep said they would get to me between 1pm and 6pm. Now as I sat in my sauna of a house i counted down the hours. Alas I got a call from HEP at 545 pm saying that my technician was delayed. I figured at this point I am in for a hot night and it wouldn't be until the AM until i got support. To my pleasant surprise Patrick from HEP showed up at my place at around 9pm. We got my AC repaired and sorted and the price was very reasonable. Hep now has a customer for the rest of the time I live in my house. Do not hesitate to call they can and will help you.

We needed a repair to our AC system at the peak of last summer's heat and HEP were the only folks who were able to come out (or even answer the phone, for that matter). They actually managed to get someone to our place that same day and relieve our 95° misery. So I was quick to consider them last week when we had more trouble with our 10-year-old system this spring. Again they were very responsive - and although they weren't able to fix the problem right then (a combination of factors necessitated a more extensive replacement) they promptly quoted the more involved work that was needed. I considered other options for a couple of days without seeing an obvious better choice that was available to do the work, then called to say I was ready to hire HEP for the work. Bob Mathews promptly came to my workplace to finalize all the details of the proposal with me... and then arranged for the work to begin within two days, even though it was an awkward downtown job the would require a crane for roof access. When the actual day of work came I had a last minute panic about the specific equipment choice we'd made and Bob was quick to answer the phone and go over the details again, clarifying my area of uncertainty. The team who came to do the actual installation of our new coils and condenser unit consisted of Tommy Fitzgerald and Joshua McCarty, both excellent guys. They were intent on doing a thorough job and communicating what they were up to as they did it. My wife and I both felt completely comfortable with them. All in all this was a great experience, even though it involved suddenly having to spend a bit of cash we weren't expecting to. Thanks Bob, Joe, Tommy, and Joshua - it's great to have working AC again!

95 degrees and my air goes out! Three hours later George arrives. I took only five minutes and all was working. George must have done the repair a million times because he knew just what it was. The repair was $327 but it beat paying $3,000 for a new compressor! George was friendly and had a big smile. I would highly recommend HEP.!!!!

The Critical Role of Reliable Heat Repair in New Market's Climate

New Market’s combination of brisk winters, warm summers, and year-round humidity generates constant stress on residential and light-commercial HVAC equipment. When a heating unit falters, interior temperatures can dip quickly, causing discomfort, potential health risks, and even structural problems such as frozen pipes. Timely, dependable heat repair is therefore more than a convenience—it is essential for protecting occupants and property alike.

Unique Weather Patterns Demand Prompt Solutions

Although daytime temperatures can be mild in early autumn and late spring, winter evenings in New Market often plunge below freezing. This pattern creates a cycle of heavy system usage followed by idle spells, which can:

  • Accelerate component wear, particularly on heat exchangers and blower motors
  • Contribute to condensate drain clogs as temperature swings create excess moisture
  • Increase the likelihood of ignition failures during sudden cold snaps

A professionally executed repair limits downtime, ensuring homeowners enjoy consistent warmth regardless of sudden meteorological shifts.

Comfort, Safety, and Property Protection

A malfunctioning furnace is more than an inconvenience; it can compromise indoor air quality, raise carbon monoxide risks, and leave family members exposed to dangerously low temperatures. Additionally, unheated crawl spaces or basements allow water lines to freeze and burst, leading to costly water damage. Routine and emergency repair work performed by HEP mitigates these scenarios, helping residents maintain:

  • Stable indoor temperature and humidity levels
  • Healthy airflow without excessive particulate or combustion byproducts
  • Peace of mind that vital infrastructure remains safeguarded

Common Heating System Problems Resolved by HEP Technicians

HEP’s certified team encounters and corrects diverse issues across gas, electric, and ductless systems. Each problem category demands specialized diagnostic tools and localized expertise to expedite restoration.

Furnace Ignition and Pilot Light Failures

Intermittent or non-existent ignition is a leading cause of no-heat calls. Key culprits include:

  • Cracked hot surface ignitors
  • Dirty flame sensors that misread burner flames
  • Inadequate gas pressure from clogged supply lines

HEP technicians inspect voltage readings, clean sensors, replace defective ignitors, and verify safe gas flow to restore dependable burner operation.

Heat Pump Icing and Refrigerant Issues

Heat pumps leverage refrigerant cycles to draw exterior heat indoors. When outdoor coils freeze or refrigerant levels drop, efficiency plummets. HEP identifies and corrects:

  • Malfunctioning defrost controls or sensors
  • Refrigerant leaks at flare fittings or evaporator coils
  • Obstructed airflow from debris accumulation

After repairs, system pressures are balanced, and coil surfaces are cleared to prevent recurrent icing.

Boiler Circulation Complications

Hydronic systems rely on pumps and zone valves to distribute hot water. Symptoms such as uneven radiator temperatures or gurgling noises often stem from:

  • Air trapped in supply lines
  • Faulty circulator pumps
  • Mineral scale restricting flow

HEP purges air, replaces worn pump assemblies, and flushes scale buildup, restoring silent, even heat across every zone.

Ductwork Leakage and Imbalanced Airflow

Conditioned air that escapes through leaky ducts forces equipment to work harder, heightening energy consumption and shortening equipment life. HEP’s duct inspection and sealing services:

  • Locate hidden faults using pressure testing and thermal imaging
  • Apply mastic sealant or metal tape to joints
  • Balance register dampers for uniform supply and return

Comprehensive Heat Repair Services Offered by HEP

From initial diagnosis to final performance verification, HEP follows a structured approach that prioritizes accuracy, longevity, and safety.

Diagnostic Process Built on Advanced Tools

Technicians arrive with combustion analyzers, infrared cameras, and Bluetooth-enabled pressure gauges. These instruments produce real-time data regarding:

  • Flue draft strength and carbon monoxide levels
  • Surface temperatures of heat exchangers and motors
  • Refrigerant superheat and subcool values

Data-driven troubleshooting minimizes guesswork, enabling precise repairs that tackle root causes rather than symptoms.

Replacement of Worn Components with OEM Parts

Quality repairs require parts that meet manufacturer specifications. HEP sources original equipment manufacturer (OEM) parts, which offer:

  • Guaranteed compatibility with existing assemblies
  • Manufacturer-validated performance standards
  • Reduced likelihood of premature failure

Technicians also carry an inventory of high-failure items—capacitors, relays, ignitors—reducing return trips and shortening system downtime.

Post-Repair Calibration and Performance Testing

After mechanical and electrical issues are addressed, the team recalibrates critical settings such as gas input rates, blower fan speeds, and thermostat anticipator values. Final testing protocols include:

  • Measuring temperature rise across heat exchangers or coils
  • Verifying voltage balance and amperage draw under load
  • Confirming tight venting and condensate drainage

Only when readings align with design specifications is the job considered complete.

Integration of Air Conditioning Expertise for Year-Round Efficiency

Because most New Market homes rely on integrated HVAC systems, any repair affecting heating performance often influences cooling efficiency. HEP’s cross-trained technicians recognize and address this interdependence.

Dual-Fuel Systems and Smart Thermostat Optimization

Many properties utilize a dual-fuel configuration, combining a heat pump with a gas furnace to maximize efficiency. Proper staging and thermostat programming are vital to cost savings. HEP fine-tunes:

  • Balance points at which auxiliary heat engages
  • Lock-out temperatures that prevent unnecessary gas consumption
  • Smart thermostat algorithms for adaptive recovery

Indoor Air Quality Enhancements

Repairing mechanical defects offers an opportunity to improve air quality. HEP assesses whether adding compatible options could boost occupant wellness, including:

  • High-MERV or HEPA filtration upgrades
  • UV-C light germicidal fixtures in supply plenums
  • Whole-home humidifiers or dehumidifiers

These enhancements synergize with restored heating function, creating a healthier, more comfortable environment.

  • Extend component lifespan, delaying capital-intensive replacements

Preventative Maintenance Strategies to Reduce the Need for Emergency Heat Repair

While responsive repair is vital, proactive care remains the most cost-effective strategy for uninterrupted comfort.

Seasonal Tune-Ups

A comprehensive tune-up prior to peak heating season involves:

  • Cleaning burner assemblies and vacuuming combustion chambers
  • Lubricating motors where applicable
  • Tightening electrical terminals and verifying safety switches
  • Testing high-limit and rollout sensors

Early detection during maintenance often reveals minor issues before they escalate into full system failures.

Filter Replacement Schedules

Clogged filters restrict airflow, forcing blowers to draw higher amperage and risking heat exchanger cracks from excessive temperatures. HEP recommends filter changes based on:

  • Filter type (fiberglass, pleated, electrostatic)
  • Occupancy levels and indoor contamination sources such as pets
  • Manufacturer airflow requirements for furnaces and air handlers

DIY Visual Inspections Homeowners Can Perform Safely

Between professional visits, simple observations promote system health. Residents should periodically:

  • Check thermostat batteries and settings
  • Ensure exterior heat pump coils remain free from leaves and snow
  • Confirm that supply and return registers are unobstructed by furniture

Promptly notifying HEP of abnormalities discovered during these inspections further reduces downtime.

Signs Your Heating System Needs Immediate Professional Attention

Unusual Noises and Odors

Grinding, banging, or whistling noises often foreshadow motor bearing failure, cracked heat exchangers, or duct pressure imbalances. Metallic or burning odors may indicate overheating electrical components. Any persistent sound or smell deviation merits a professional inspection.

Cold Spots or Short Cycling

A furnace that cycles off before reaching thermostat set point wastes energy and wears on ignition assemblies. Cold zones in certain rooms may reveal duct leakage or failing zone dampers. Left unchecked, both issues can culminate in complete system shutdown.

Sudden Spike in Energy Bills

If utility costs rise despite stable weather patterns, diminished equipment efficiency is likely. Causes include restricted airflow, incorrect gas pressure, or faulty sensors—conditions that HEP can isolate and correct before further expense accrues.
