What our customers say

The HEP Tech Patrick McGraw worked with my vacation schedule to get the coil in my HVAC unit installed. Weather forced him to reschedule twice and he responded by coming the day after we returned from vacation. He showed my wife the old damaged coil ( I was detained at that time), and we checked over the repair together. While I was a little disappointed in some original scheduling snafus, Kevin did a great job and gave us his contact info so we could request him in the future. Overall very satisfied.

Chase came out to do a service check on HVAC unit. Found the ac unit kept tripping off. No wonder I kept feeling like it didn’t seem to cool last year! Did check with another and it was confirmed. Great job, Chase! Follow up by Alan who did a review and offered us three quotes to review. Although I knew it wasn’t going to be cheap, never is as you would think, it was a very reasonable price with 3 options in price. Now. To decide. With additional questions answered by Chris and Jared, decision made. I guess Hep will be on the way again!

  • Running safety checks on gas lines, electrical connections, and condensate drains

Documented measurements provide homeowners with tangible proof of restored efficiency and safety.

Specialized Air Conditioning Heat Repair Solutions

Many Jefferson City residences rely on heat-capable central air conditioners or dual-fuel systems. When the heat mode fails, HEP addresses several unique components.

Reversing Valve Inspections for Heat Mode

The reversing valve directs refrigerant flow to produce heat during winter. If stuck or leaking, symptoms include room-temperature air from vents. Technicians:

  • Test solenoid coil resistance
  • Measure pressure differential across valve ports
  • Confirm correct energizing sequence from the defrost control board

Timely repair or replacement reinstates proper heat output without requiring full system replacement.

Refrigerant Level Corrections

Undercharge or overcharge affects absorber coil temperature and heating capacity. HEP’s EPA-certified technicians:

  • Locate microscopic leaks using electronic detection equipment
  • Recover, weigh, and recharge refrigerant according to manufacturer standards
  • Verify superheat and subcool values fall within design parameters

The result is consistent warm air delivery and prolonged compressor lifespan.

Thermostat Calibration for Dual-Stage Systems

Dual-stage heat pumps and furnaces rely on accurate staging to balance efficiency and comfort. HEP:

  • Tests sensor placement and anticipator settings
  • Adjusts differential thresholds to prevent excessive stage transitions
  • Integrates programmable or smart thermostats for improved load matching

Precise thermostat tuning ensures the system operates at the lowest effective stage when possible, curbing energy use.

Energy Efficiency Benefits of Timely Heat Repair

Neglecting small problems can lead to costly spikes in energy consumption. By scheduling prompt repairs with HEP, Jefferson City homeowners unlock several efficiency advantages.

Lower Monthly Utility Usage

Correcting issues such as leaking air ducts, dragging blower motors, or incorrect fuel-to-air ratios directly cuts wasteful energy expenditure. Even a 10% reduction in system runtime translates to meaningful savings over an entire heating season.

Extended Equipment Lifespan

A furnace or heat pump operating under stress from clogged coils or failing capacitors experiences accelerated wear. Timely repairs:

  • Reduce friction on mechanical parts
  • Minimize overheating of electrical components
  • Stabilize refrigerant pressures

These factors collectively delay the need for premature replacement.

Improved Indoor Air Quality

Debris buildup, microbial growth, and combustion byproducts accumulate faster in malfunctioning systems. Professional cleaning and component replacement return airborne particulate levels to healthier thresholds, benefiting occupants with allergies or respiratory concerns.

Safety Considerations During Heating Repair

HEP prioritizes occupant safety alongside performance improvements.

Carbon Monoxide Prevention Measures

Gas-fired furnaces produce CO during normal combustion. Cracked heat exchangers or blocked flues can leak this odorless gas into living areas. Technicians:

  • Conduct combustion analysis to confirm CO levels remain below 50 ppm in the flue
  • Inspect vent pipe termination points for obstructions such as nests or ice
  • Recommend CO detectors in strategic household locations

Electrical System Integrity

Every repair includes checks of:

  • Breaker sizing relative to equipment amperage draw
  • Correct wire gauge and secure terminal connections
  • Proper grounding and bonding for all metallic components

These precautions avert shorts, blown fuses, and potential fire hazards.

Combustion Chamber Cleaning

Soot accumulation restricts heat transfer and can create localized hot spots that weaken metal components. HEP:

  • Brushes and vacuums chamber walls
  • Replaces deteriorated chamber insulation
  • Re-seals access panels to maintain optimized draft

Clean combustion chambers operate more quietly and efficiently.
