FAQs

What does a plumbing pipe upgrade entail?

A plumbing pipe upgrade involves replacing outdated, corroded, or undersized piping to improve water flow, prevent leaks, and meet modern building codes. The process may include replacing materials such as galvanized steel or lead pipes with newer, more durable types like copper, PEX, or PVC. This upgrade not only boosts performance but also enhances water quality and safety.

How do I know if my pipes need upgrading?

Common signs that your pipes might need an upgrade include recurring leaks, water discoloration, reduced water pressure, and high repair costs from frequent issues. Older homes, especially those built before modern plumbing standards, are more susceptible. A professional plumbing assessment in Cosby can help diagnose these problems and recommend the best course of action.

What are the benefits of upgrading my plumbing system's pipes?

Upgrading your plumbing system offers numerous benefits including improved water pressure, enhanced water quality, and reduced risk of leaks or bursts that can cause property damage. Modern materials increase durability, lower maintenance costs, and can contribute to energy efficiency. Additionally, an upgraded system is more likely to comply with current building codes, potentially increasing your home's market value.

What types of materials are commonly used for pipe upgrades?

The most common materials used for modern pipe upgrades include copper, PEX (cross-linked polyethylene), and PVC (polyvinyl chloride). Copper is known for its durability and resistance to corrosion, while PEX offers flexibility and ease of installation. PVC is resinous and lightweight, making it an ideal choice for certain applications. A professional plumber will recommend the best option based on your home’s specific needs and local regulations.

How long does a typical pipe upgrade take?

The duration of a pipe upgrade depends on the scope and complexity of the project. In many cases, a residential upgrade can take anywhere from one to several days. Factors that influence this timeframe include the size of your home, the accessibility of existing piping, the materials chosen, and any unforeseen issues that arise during the renovation. Your plumbing contractor in Cosby will provide a detailed timeline after assessing your system.

How do I schedule a pipe upgrade service in Cosby?

Scheduling a pipe upgrade in Cosby is straightforward. Begin by contacting a reputable plumbing company that specializes in pipe upgrades. They will arrange a consultation to assess your current system, discuss your needs, and provide an estimate. Many companies offer flexible scheduling options to minimize disruptions. It is advisable to schedule your service well in advance, particularly during peak seasons, to ensure timely completion of your project.

What our customers say

David was my tech. The man was very professional and answered all my question. I highly recommend using this company for home repair needs. David fixed the leak that I called for and I even found another leak while David was there and he would have fixed it but didn't have the part, which is understandable since it was not the repair I called for. He help set up another appointment for the repair for the second leak for the next day to insure it would get done in a timely manner. Thanks David !!!

Jason was very professional, on time, and kind. He patiently explained what our issue is. He took his time explaining how he was fixing our issue to hold us over, but then explained we needed a replacement drainage system of pipes as ours are over 50 years old. He was very kind, fast and made me feel thankful we have Chosen HEP as our plumber!

We had an old shutoff valve fail under the kitchen sink fail and was leaking profusely. Shut water off at main, called HEP at 7 am April 18. We were scheduled for afternoon repair but request earlier time if possible. Shortly afterward we got scheduled much earlier. Our repairman was Ernest Kerekes and he did a great job replacing the valve and eliminated a mess done by someone else when they had added a homemade “Tee” to supply hot water to a dishwater. He did it how it should have been done originally. Ernest was very professional, polite, and his appearance was excellent. He certainly is an asset to your company and we won’t hesitate to call you for any future needs. Steve and Johnnie Forrest.
