FAQs

Why should I consider upgrading my plumbing pipes?

Upgrading your plumbing pipes can prevent potential leaks, improve water pressure, ensure cleaner water, and increase the overall efficiency of your plumbing system. It can also add value to your property and help avoid costly repairs due to old or damaged pipes.

What types of pipes are best for upgrades?

The most common types of pipes used in upgrades are Copper, PEX (cross-linked polyethylene), and CPVC (chlorinated polyvinyl chloride). Each has its advantages: Copper is durable and long-lasting, PEX is flexible and resistant to scale and chlorine, and CPVC is cost-effective and heat-resistant.

How long does a pipe upgrade take?

The duration of a pipe upgrade depends on the size of your home and the complexity of your plumbing system. Generally, it can take anywhere from a couple of days to a week. Our team will provide a more accurate timeline after an initial assessment of your property.

Will my water service be interrupted during the upgrade?

Yes, there will be some interruption to your water service during the pipe upgrade. However, we strive to minimize downtime by working efficiently and scheduling work in phases. We will keep you informed and try to ensure that you face as little inconvenience as possible.

How much does a pipe upgrade cost?

The cost of a pipe upgrade varies depending on several factors, including the size of your home, the type of pipes used, and the extent of labor involved. We provide a detailed estimate after evaluating your specific needs and discussing the best options for your situation.

How do I know if my pipes need to be upgraded?

Common signs that you may need a pipe upgrade include frequent leaks, discolored water, reduced water pressure, and visible corrosion or rust on pipes. Additionally, if your home has older galvanized pipes, it is wise to consider upgrading to avoid future issues and ensure better water quality.

We had a phone call from our utility company saying our water meter was showing extremely high volume from midnight until their call. My husband tried to find the problem but was not able to do so. We tried a couple other plumbing companies and they were not getting to us. In desperation, I called HEP. Jeremy was at our home in less than 2 hours. It took some time to locate the fine, mist spray that was causing the issue but once it was located, he tabulated the cost involved and presented it to my husband who told him to proceed; we had had the city turn our water off at the meter so it would not continue to accumulate. Jeremy took care of the issue and made the repairs. He was a clean cut, personable young man. We will ask for him by name when we need plumbing repairs.
