FAQs

Why should I consider upgrading my pipes?

Upgrading your pipes can improve water flow, reduce the risk of leaks or burst pipes, and enhance the overall efficiency of your plumbing system. If your home has older pipes, they may be prone to corrosion, buildup, or wear and tear. Newer pipe materials are more durable and can handle higher pressures, ensuring a longer lifespan for your plumbing system.

What are the signs that I need to upgrade my pipes?

Common signs that you may need to upgrade your pipes include low water pressure, discolored water, frequent leaks, and unusual noises coming from your plumbing system. If your home is over 50 years old and still has its original piping, that's also a strong indicator that an upgrade may be necessary.

How much does it cost to upgrade my pipes in Chattanooga?

The cost of a pipe upgrade can vary significantly depending on the size of your home, the type of piping material used, and the complexity of the installation. On average, homeowners in Chattanooga can expect to pay between $2,000 and $15,000 for a complete pipe upgrade. It's best to get a detailed quote from a reliable plumbing service to understand the specific costs for your project.

What types of pipes do you recommend for upgrades?

For most upgrades, we recommend using either PEX (cross-linked polyethylene) or copper pipes. PEX pipes are flexible, easy to install, and resistant to scale and chlorine. Copper pipes are durable, have a long lifespan, and are resistant to bacteria. Both options are excellent, and the best choice depends on your specific needs and budget.

How long does it take to complete a pipe upgrade?

The duration of a pipe upgrade project can vary depending on the size of your home and the complexity of the plumbing system. Generally, a complete pipe upgrade can take anywhere from a few days to a week. Our team works efficiently to minimize disruption to your daily routine while ensuring high-quality workmanship.

Do I need to be home during the pipe upgrade process?

While it's not necessary for you to be home during the entire pipe upgrade process, we do recommend being available at the beginning and end of the project. This allows us to discuss any specific concerns or preferences you have and to provide a final walkthrough once the work is complete. We will make every effort to keep you informed and comfortable throughout the process.

Best money I've spent in a while for the peace of mind I got. One of my lines burst in the middle of the night, and HEP was able to get me scheduled the next morning for my repair. Fernando was patient (I work nights and I was very tired), professional, and upfront. Even put together some estimates for me for future work. Highly recommend this team for the quick response and the awesome people they send.

Had a very stubborn clogged kitchen sink causing a very slow drain. HEP sent Preston out and was unable to clear the clog with a snake. He did a good job but the clog just kept collapsing. Scheduled to have the pipes cleaned out or replaced. Josh and Gary showed up and they were more stubborn than the clog. After a few attempts to get the jet head through several several twists and turns in the pipe, they were able to clean out the pipe to the main. Great job and will use them again for any future plumbing problems. Thanks guys.
