What our customers say

Within 1 hour of contacting HEP, Preston arrived, checked, and then confirmed the great news that we needed a new water heater 🤦‍♀️ He went over everything with us, including the Contract. He placed order for a new water heater and explained that it would be delivered and installed in less than 24 hrs by the installation crew. As promised, by 9am this morning, Cody and Dalton arrived and the work began. By 11:30am, the old heater was removed, the new heater installed, they cleaned up and removed all signs of their presence except for a new and functioning water heater. All 3 guys were very personable and exhibited proper training and knowledge of their tasks. We've relied on HEP in the past and would gladly recommend them to anyone in need of their services. Noone Wants repairs to be on their agenda, but it's great to know that with one phone call, HEP is on the way!!😊

STOP OVERTHINKING AND LET HEP TAKE CARE OF IT! Awesome experience from the first call until the HEP van left the driveway. I called late in the evening and they took my info and tried to get a tech out that night. Unfortunately that did not work (I expected as much), but they had one come out the next morning. Corey did an excellent job answering my questions about the old versus new water heater, relocating it, replacing the old pvc with proper pex and copper, and more. He put together some estimates on the spot and was crucial in helping me decide what would work within my budget and future plans for the house. We scheduled the installation for the next morning, but in about an hour I got a call that a tech was available the same night. Sure enough, Fernando rolled up with a brand new water heater. About 2.5-3hrs later, he had the old busted unit out and a fresh new up to code unit installed exactly how I wanted it. So, a project I thought would take a few days ended up getting resolved in one day. I can't explain how relieving this was while this work blocked ongoing renovations. The whole HEP crew, including Corey and Fernando are LIFESAVERS! I will absolutely use HEP in the future. Thanks again!

Pure, Dependable Water in Corryton: How HEP Plumbing Expertise Makes It Happen

Every glass of water poured from a kitchen tap in Corryton tells a hidden story about underground aquifers, municipal treatment stations, and the intricate network of pipes weaving beneath the neighborhood. Residents want that story to end with crisp, clean water—free of sediment, unpleasant odors, and contaminants. HEP, a full-service plumbing company, turns that expectation into reality through professional water purification solutions designed specifically for homes and businesses in Corryton.

Why Water Purification Matters in Corryton

Situated in an area where seasonal rainfall, aging infrastructure, and varying mineral concentrations can impact water clarity and taste, Corryton households sometimes notice:

  • Metallic or sulfuric odors
  • Cloudiness or sediment at the bottom of a glass
  • Staining on sinks, tubs, or laundry
  • Limescale buildup on fixtures
  • Unexpected fluctuations in water pH

Even when municipal water meets federal guidelines, trace levels of chlorine, chloramines, and dissolved solids may linger. A professionally engineered purification system adds an extra layer of protection, safeguarding the health of residents and prolonging the life of plumbing fixtures and appliances.

HEP’s Specialized Focus on Plumbing-Based Water Purification

Plumbing is the backbone of any purification setup. The most advanced filtration media cannot perform to specification without correct pipe sizing, pressure balancing, and leak-free connections. HEP’s licensed plumbers integrate purification technology directly into the property’s water supply lines, providing seamless distribution of treated water to every faucet, shower, and appliance.

Integrated Expertise

  • In-house plumbers trained in water chemistry
  • On-site evaluation of flow rates, pressure readings, and pipe material
  • Customized layout drawings for system placement and bypass valves
  • Post-installation performance testing with calibrated instrumentation

Common Water Quality Challenges Encountered Locally

Mineral Hardness

Calcium and magnesium ions naturally dissolve in groundwater. Over time, these minerals:

  • Form scale inside water heaters and boilers
  • Restrict flow in narrow pipe sections
  • Leave cloudy spots on glassware

HEP addresses hardness through ion-exchange softening or combined softening and filtration units.

Chlorine and Chloramine Residuals

Disinfection chemicals ensure safety during municipal distribution, yet they often impart a chemical aftertaste and can dry out skin and hair. Activated carbon filtration, installed by HEP technicians, removes these compounds while preserving adequate water pressure.

Sediment and Rust

Corryton’s mix of older galvanized piping and newer PVC systems can lead to occasional bursts of rust particles or silt, especially after utility repairs. Multi-stage sediment filters trap particles down to sub-micron levels, protecting both drinkability and appliance mechanics.

Microbial Concerns

Though rare, localized boil advisories from water main breaks highlight the need for additional safeguards. Ultraviolet (UV) purification units neutralize bacteria and viruses instantly, with no chemicals added.

The HEP Purification Process From Assessment to Crystal-Clear Output

1. Water Analysis and Site Inspection

A comprehensive starting point involves:

  • On-premises sampling from kitchen and exterior spigots
  • Lab testing for chemical, bacterial, and mineral content
  • Pressure and flow measurements at key points
  • Visual inspection of entry lines, shut-off valves, and water heater connections

2. Custom System Design

Based on the data, HEP engineers specify equipment such as:

  • Whole-house sediment pre-filters
  • Water softeners with demand-initiated regeneration
  • Reverse osmosis (RO) membranes for drinking taps
  • UV sterilizers for microbial defense
  • Dechlorination tanks with catalytic carbon

Each component is selected for compatibility with Corryton water conditions, preventing over-filtration that would unnecessarily waste water or under-filtration that would miss contaminants.

3. Professional Installation

HEP’s plumbing crew handles:

  • Main line shut-down and depressurization
  • Precise pipe cutting and solvent-weld or threaded connections
  • Installation of bypass valves for maintenance flexibility
  • Pressure testing at 1.5× normal operating PSI
  • Tidy routing of drain lines for RO and softening systems

The team uses stainless-steel or PEX fittings chosen for durability and certification with NSF/ANSI standards.

4. Commissioning and Validation

Following installation, technicians:

  • Flush filters and resins to remove media fines
  • Measure TDS (total dissolved solids) before and after purification
  • Verify softener hardness leakage under peak demand
  • Calibrate ultraviolet intensity monitors
  • Provide a printed purity report for homeowner records

5. Scheduled Maintenance and Support

HEP offers tailored maintenance plans covering:

  • Filter cartridge replacement intervals
  • Periodic resin regeneration checks
  • UV lamp intensity verification and annual lamp swaps
  • RO membrane inspection and cleaning cycles
  • Detailed logs for warranty compliance

Types of Water Purification Solutions Delivered by HEP

Whole-House Filtration

Installed at the point of entry, these systems treat every drop that flows through the property. Popular configurations include:

  • Multi-gradient sediment depth filters
  • Catalytic carbon blocks targeting chlorine, VOCs, and pesticides
  • Automatic backwashing media beds

Reverse Osmosis Drinking Stations

RO units, often located under the kitchen sink, force water through a semi-permeable membrane, removing up to 99% of dissolved impurities. Features available through HEP:

  • Remineralization cartridges to balance pH
  • Alkaline post-filters for enhanced taste
  • Dedicated lead-free faucet installations

Water Softeners

Ion-exchange softeners swap hardness ions for sodium or potassium. HEP configures:

  • Metered control heads that regenerate only when needed, conserving salt
  • Double-tank duplex setups for homes with continuous high demand
  • Integrated sediment filtration to prolong resin life

Ultraviolet Purification

A stainless-steel chamber houses a UV lamp emitting germicidal wavelengths. Key benefits:

  • Chemical-free disinfection
  • No taste or odor generated
  • Compact footprint ideal for limited utility rooms

Specialty Cartridges and Add-Ons

For unique issues such as tannins, nitrates, or sulfur:

  • Anion exchange resins
  • Oxidizing media followed by catalytic carbon
  • KDF (Kinetic Degradation Fluxion) for heavy metal reduction

Plumbing Integration: The HEP Difference

HEP’s plumbing background ensures that water purification components are not treated as standalone add-ons but as integral parts of the broader hydronic ecosystem.

Pressure Regulation

Improperly balanced pressure can damage filtration housings. HEP:

  • Installs pressure-reducing valves where municipal supply exceeds recommended PSI
  • Adds expansion tanks to mitigate thermal spikes from water heaters

Flow Optimization

Oversized filters may restrict flow if improperly sized. Conversely, undersized units create a drop in shower pressure. HEP calculates gallons per minute (GPM) requirements and selects media beds and housings to match.

Leak Prevention

  • Use of crimp-ring PEX connections for flexibility and fewer joints
  • Application of NSF-approved thread sealants
  • Post-install monitoring with electronic leak detectors

Health, Home, and Environmental Benefits

Health and Wellness

  • Reduction of contaminants such as lead, cysts, and volatile organic compounds
  • Improved taste encourages higher water intake, supporting hydration and skin health
  • Fewer respiratory irritants released during showering when chlorine is removed

Appliance Longevity

Seasonal Water Quality Shifts in Corryton and Adaptive Purification

Weather patterns in Corryton influence the mineral and microbial profile of local water. Spring downpours often stir up surface runoff, ushering in turbidity spikes, while late-summer droughts can concentrate dissolved solids and amplify hardness. HEP’s adaptive purification strategies respond to these fluctuations by:

  • Installing sediment filters with graduated micron ratings to capture both coarse silt after heavy rain and fine particulates during low-flow periods
  • Programming softener controls to adjust regeneration frequency when summer evaporation raises mineral concentration
  • Equipping UV systems with intensity monitors that compensate for seasonal temperature shifts affecting lamp performance

Regular mid-year lab testing, synchronized with the wettest and driest months, empowers homeowners to tweak filter change intervals and maintain optimal purity. By aligning system operation with Corryton’s seasonal water rhythms, HEP ensures reliable quality year-round without unnecessary media waste.
