My heating and air unit completely quit on me the other day. I called HEP as they were the only ones who could come out on a moments notice. Unfortunately I had to get a whole new heating and air system (the writing was on the wall for some time, I was just waiting for the inevitable). I was financed the same day (at 8pm!!) and set up the installation. I was told it would take 6 to 8 hours estimate for the work to be done. The gentlemen that came to install the unit (Javi and Eric(?)) came on time and were very friendly and courteous and knowledgeable. They had the old system removed and the new one installed in just a little over 3 hours. I was all around very impressed with the work that was done...from the person that took my phone call the other day, to the technician that came out to diagnose the problem and helped me get financed and the gentlemen that installed the new system. Everyone was personable and knowledgeable throughout the whole process. I would definitely recommend HEP to anyone that is in need of home service that you can't do yourself.

Common Challenges in Sequatchie Homes and How HEP Company Addresses Them

Sequatchie’s geographical location and housing stock present unique obstacles. HEP company’s experience ensures effective solutions that prevent future problems.

Mountainous Terrain and Elevation Changes

Uneven terrain can restrict airflow around outdoor units. HEP company installs elevated pads and specialized mounting brackets to promote proper ventilation and protect equipment from runoff.

High Humidity and Seasonal Rainfall

Excess moisture can rust components and foster microbial growth. Dehumidification add-ons and corrosion-resistant materials safeguard system longevity.

Older Homes with Limited Duct Space

Many Sequatchie properties feature tight crawl spaces or outdated duct designs. Technicians employ compact air handlers, ductless mini-split additions, or retrofit ductwork to fit space constraints without sacrificing comfort.

Power Outages and Voltage Fluctuations

Storms and rural grid limitations occasionally disrupt electricity supply. HEP company offers surge protection devices and recommends compatible backup power solutions to keep critical HVAC components safe.

Maintenance Tips After a New HVAC Unit Installation

A freshly installed HVAC system operates at peak performance when paired with diligent upkeep.

Essential Post-Installation Care

  • Replace or clean filters every one to three months.
  • Keep outdoor components free from leaves, grass clippings, and debris.
  • Inspect condensate drain lines for blockages and algae growth.
  • Schedule professional tune-ups twice annually—before summer and winter seasons.
  • Monitor thermostat settings to avoid excessive temperature swings.
  • Maintain clearance around indoor and outdoor units to enable proper airflow.
  • Record utility bills and note any significant changes in consumption as early warning signs of potential issues.

Sustainable Practices Followed by HEP Company

Environmental stewardship is integral to modern HVAC unit replacement. HEP company implements responsible practices throughout each project.

Green Initiatives

  • EPA-compliant refrigerant recovery and recycling prevent ozone depletion.
  • Proper disposal of old equipment in certified recycling facilities reduces landfill waste.
  • Recommendation of ENERGY STAR® qualified products limits greenhouse gas emissions.
  • Optimization of ductwork and sealing minimizes energy loss through leaks.

The Role of Proper Sizing and Load Calculation

Incorrectly sized HVAC systems can lead to short cycling, temperature inconsistencies, and premature wear. HEP company relies on industry-standard software and Manual J protocols to calculate heating and cooling loads.

Variables Considered

  • Local design temperatures for Sequatchie County
  • Insulation R-values of walls, ceilings, and floors
  • Window type, orientation, and shading characteristics
  • Number of occupants and internal heat gains from appliances
  • Infiltration rates based on building envelope tightness

Accurate sizing ensures that new equipment operates within manufacturer specifications, maximizing efficiency and lifespan.

Safety Standards and Codes Followed by HEP Company

HVAC unit replacement involves gas lines, high-voltage electricity, pressurized refrigerant, and combustion byproducts. HEP company upholds stringent safety measures to protect clients and technicians alike.
