FAQs

What are the benefits of upgrading my toilet?

Upgrading your toilet can provide several benefits including improved water efficiency, enhanced performance, and increased comfort. Modern toilets are designed to use less water per flush, which can lead to significant savings on your water bill. Additionally, advanced features such as dual-flush mechanisms, better flushing systems, and ergonomic designs can offer a more reliable and comfortable experience.

How do I know if my toilet needs to be replaced?

Signs that your toilet may need to be replaced include frequent clogging, inefficient flushing, persistent leaks, and visible cracks in the porcelain. If you notice your toilet is out of date, uses too much water, or requires regular repairs, it might be more cost-effective to invest in a new model. A professional plumber can provide an assessment to determine if replacement is necessary.

What kind of water savings can I expect from a new toilet?

Modern toilets are designed to meet EPA WaterSense criteria, using 1.28 gallons per flush or less, compared to older models that may use up to 7 gallons per flush. This can reduce your household water usage by thousands of gallons per year, translating to substantial savings on your water bills. Depending on your current model, upgrading can cut water usage by up to 60%.

What are the key features to look for in a new toilet?

When choosing a new toilet, consider features such as water efficiency (look for WaterSense certification), flushing performance, and bowl shape (elongated vs. round). Comfort height options, which are higher than standard toilets, can be easier to use for adults and the elderly. Additional features like dual flush systems, quiet-close lids, and easy-clean surfaces can also enhance convenience and usability.

How long does the installation of a new toilet take?

The installation of a new toilet typically takes between 1 to 2 hours for a professional plumber, assuming no complications. This includes removing the old toilet, preparing the area, installing the new unit, and ensuring it is correctly connected and functioning. Factors such as accessibility, the condition of the existing plumbing, and any unforeseen issues can affect the installation time.

Can I install a new toilet myself, or should I hire a professional?

While some experienced DIY enthusiasts may be able to install a toilet, hiring a professional plumber is highly recommended to ensure proper installation and avoid potential issues. Professional plumbers have the expertise and tools necessary to handle installations efficiently, ensuring that all connections are leak-free and the system operates smoothly. Improper installation can lead to leaks, inefficient operation, and potential water damage.

What our customers say

On March 1 & 2, 2021, R.J. and James came to our house to replace all the water pipes under the house and all the shut off valves inside the house. This was a massive undertaking! They were on time, professional, respectful and worked VERY hard! They also cleaned up after themselves and made sure I was satisfied with all of their work. I could not have asked for a better experience (I had really dreaded the thought of all that going on inside the house!). Because HEP has so many other services available, I am sure we will be using them in the future. Also, Aaron (and another person I cannot remember his name) came out to the house to give us a bid. Both were so very nice and professional. I am SO thankful the LORD let my husband find HEP after a quick online search! Blessings to each and every one of you!

Bill Bennett is the best. He was knowledgeable, courteous, and very professional. I had my septic system replaced, added a clean out, and replaced 2 toilets. When the crew got to my house, there was some confusion and Bill was immediately available to me for a resolution. I will use them in the future and recommend him to my friends & family.

We are very pleased with this company. They are very professional, on time and friendly. The problem started with a clogged downstairs toilet. After several attempts on our own using snakes and drain opener we called a local plumber. He arrived several hours later and after 4 hours of doing the same thing we did he could not get it unclogged. Said he would be back the next day but he no showed and didn't call. That happened twice. Then I called Hep. They arrived in a few hours and diagnosed the problem (main sewer line going to septic crushed) within 10 mins of arriving. The came the next day and fixed. Even though it was a pretty hard job (the crushed part was under the paved driveway) they did a great job of cleaning up. He kept apologizing about the mess but we were just happy to have working toilets again after 5 days. I will always call Hep for any plumbing needs.

Ed came on time and gave the call to let me know he was on the way. He was well mannered and polite, even asked if he wanted me to cover his shoes before coming in. After trying one location to get to the clog and it failing he went home to get his own extension cord to try unclogging from the very end of the line. Finished putting my toilet back together as well. Would use him again for sure
