What our customers say

I had a roof inspection today with HEP and I can't recommend this company enough! The representative, Jason, was extremely professional and courteous. After the inspections he walked me through his findings and at NO point did I feel I was being "up sold". We've had a number of projects done to our home recently and after speaking with so many different contractors and getting various quotes on "necessary" work it was refreshing to speak with someone who wasn't trying to take advantage of me. I will definitely be using HEP for future projects and recommend them to anyone doing any work on their home.

HEP Roofing .... Jordan Perez was extremely helpful in replacing my roof..He was hands on all through the project ... His crew was amazing and although it was extremely cold and a little breezy, they worked hard and non stopped to get the job completed. The roof looks fantastic. . I would strongly recommend this company for roofing anytime. Thanks Jordan Perez and crew.

Frank Elmore and Shane Riedel came to give me an estimate on a roof leak. They took time to answer all my questions and were thorough as they analyzed the issues I had and gave me a fair estimate. The leak was more involved than I realized so I asked for a consultant to come out and give me a quote on an entire roof to compare the cost of repair versus entire roof. I thought it would be another day but they had Travis at my house within half an hour! They even stayed and waited to make the introductions. I decided to go with entire roof but Frank and Shane were great and very helpful!

I've had HEP remodel 2 bathrooms, put a new roof on my house, and fix my HVAC. I've had nothing but positive experiences in each case. They provided friendly, punctual, and reasonably priced services. They stand behind their work in my experience too. I had an item or two that wasn't quite right during the bathroom remodels and they came back out to fix them without any fuss. They're at the top of my list when I need something done around the house that I don't want to tackle myself.

Just had Jason Shoupe come out and do and inspection on my roof to see what needed to be done in order for us to sell our home. He was the most helpful guy I believe I have had come out and inspect anything on my house, the company itself sounds great just from the things he said. He didn't talk to me like I was just some guy needing a roof repaired, he talked to me and respected myself and my family and treated all of us as a friend. I would recommend Jason and HEP to anyone you will not be disappointed at all. Thanks Jason Shoupe for all your help!!

Premium Metal Roofing in Clinton by HEP

HEP delivers specialized metal roofing services for homeowners and business owners throughout Clinton, Tennessee. Every roof erected, repaired, or replaced by HEP is engineered to meet the specific climate demands of Anderson and Knox County, balancing toughness with modern curb appeal. From initial consultation to the last inspection, the HEP team focuses on craftsmanship, durability, and energy performance—three pillars that turn a standard roof into a long-term asset for any property in Clinton.

Why Metal Roofing is Ideal for Clinton Properties

Strength Against East Tennessee Weather

Clinton experiences hot summers, cool winters, and a fair share of thunderstorm events. The fluctuating temperatures and seasonal downpours create expansion-and-contraction cycles that prematurely age many conventional roofing materials. Metal roofing installed by HEP is designed to flex with temperature changes without cracking or warping. The interlocking panels also create a continuous weatherproof barrier, preventing wind-driven rain from intruding beneath the surface.

Superior Energy Efficiency

Metal’s reflective qualities bounce a significant portion of solar radiation away from the building envelope, reducing roof surface temperatures during peak summer months. This translates to lower indoor cooling requirements. HEP routinely incorporates cool-roof pigments and high-emissivity coatings that meet or exceed ENERGY STAR standards, helping property owners shrink HVAC loads and reduce long-term utility usage.

Fire Resistance and Safety

Wildfire risk may be modest in the Clinton region, yet stray embers, lightning strikes, and accidental rooftop sparks can ignite combustible roofing systems. Metal is naturally non-combustible. HEP installs roofs that achieve a Class A fire rating—the highest rating available—adding a critical layer of safety for residential neighborhoods and commercial districts alike.

Sustainability and Environmental Benefits

Metal roofing generally contains 25% to 95% recycled content, depending on alloy type. HEP sources panels and accessories from mills that prioritize reclaimed metal feedstock, allowing local properties in Clinton to reduce their environmental footprint. At end of service life, metal roofing can be fully recycled, unlike asphalt shingles that often end up in local landfills.

HEP's Expertise in Metal Roof Installation

Tailored Consultation and Roof Assessment

An experienced HEP project manager visits each Clinton property to evaluate slope, deck integrity, ventilation, and surrounding vegetation. Moisture readings, infrared scans, and drone imagery are used to produce a data-driven assessment. This comprehensive approach ensures precise material estimates and avoids unexpected adjustments during construction.

Precision Fabrication and Material Selection

HEP partners with regional roll-formers to produce standing seam panels, corrugated sheets, and metal shingle profiles to exact site dimensions. This minimizes cuts on site, reducing waste and improving installation speed. Options include:

  • Galvalume steel
  • Aluminum
  • Zinc-coated galvanized steel
  • Copper for specialty applications
  • 24-gauge and 26-gauge thicknesses for balanced weight and strength

Skilled Installation Team

Certified metal roofing technicians follow industry best practices such as concealed fastener placement, continuous underlayment installation, and watertight flashing methods around chimneys, skylights, and valleys. Attention to detail during seaming operations prevents capillary action and wind uplift, two common failure points on improperly installed metal roofs.

Rigorous Quality Assurance

HEP employs a multi-point inspection checklist at critical milestones: substrate preparation, underlayment placement, panel layout, fastening patterns, and finishing details. Quality control supervisors conduct final inspections to verify compliance with International Building Code (IBC) and the Metal Construction Association (MCA) guidelines.

Range of Metal Roofing Options Offered by HEP

Standing Seam Metal Roofing

Vertical seams raised above panel level create a sleek, contemporary appearance. Concealed clips allow thermal movement and eliminate exposed screws, boosting longevity. Standing seam is a preferred choice for homeowners seeking a minimalist aesthetic and robust weather resistance.

Metal Shingles and Tiles

Pressed metal panels mimic the look of cedar shake, slate, or traditional asphalt shingles while delivering superior durability. Interlocking edges create high wind resistance, an advantage during Tennessee’s occasional severe storms.

Corrugated Metal Panels

An economical option for barns, workshops, and some modern residences. Deep corrugations provide rigidity yet keep material weight low. HEP offers factory-applied paint systems engineered to resist chalking and fading, ensuring corrugated roofs retain color vibrancy for years.

Specialty Coatings and Colors

  • Kynar 500® and Hylar 5000® PVDF finishes for color retention
  • Polyester coatings for budget-sensitive projects
  • Textured or matte finishes to reduce glare
  • Reflective cool-roof pigments in light shades to enhance energy efficiency

Architectural Compatibility in Clinton

Residential Metal Roofing Solutions

HEP designs roof systems that complement ranch-style homes, Cape Cod cottages, mountain chalet designs, and modern farmhouse architecture common in the Clinton area. Gable roofs, hip roofs, and complex dormer layouts receive custom-bent trim pieces and flashings that eliminate leaks where planes intersect.

Commercial and Industrial Applications

Retail storefronts, small manufacturing facilities, and municipal structures benefit from metal roofing’s low maintenance profile. HEP integrates snow retention systems and walkways for safe rooftop equipment servicing—critical for HVAC units placed on flat or low-slope commercial roofs.

Longevity and Low Maintenance Advantages

Protective Coatings

State-of-the-art PVDF coatings safeguard metal substrates from UV degradation, chalking, and corrosion. HEP’s suppliers apply coatings at the mill under controlled conditions to ensure complete adhesion and uniform coverage.

Minimal Upkeep Requirements

Unlike asphalt shingles that may need granule replacement or periodic resealing, metal roofs demand only occasional visual inspections, gutter cleaning, and removal of debris buildup. Protective coatings negate the need for frequent repainting.

The HEP Installation Process Step by Step

Initial Roof Inspection

  • Structural integrity evaluation
  • Deck moisture content measurement
  • Ventilation analysis
  • Existing penetration mapping

Detailed Proposal and Timeline

HEP provides a scope of work outlining panel profile, underlayment type, flashing components, and estimated project duration. A clear timeline helps property owners plan around weather and household schedules.

Site Preparation and Safety Protocols

Tarps protect landscaping. OSHA-compliant harness systems, perimeter guard rails, and debris chutes maintain a safe environment for occupants and workers alike.

Old Roof Removal and Substrate Preparation

HEP strips existing roofing layers where required, inspects decking for rot, and replaces compromised boards. Synthetic underlayment and self-adhering ice and water shields are installed to create a secondary moisture barrier.

Custom Flashing and Ventilation Installation

Chimney crickets, ridge vents, and soffit vents are fitted to optimize airflow, preventing condensation buildup that can undermine roof lifespan.

Final Walk-Through and Client Orientation

HEP supervisors review completed work, address homeowner questions about maintenance, and document the roof with high-resolution imagery for recordkeeping.

Energy Savings and Metal Roofing

Reflectivity and Cool Roof Technology

By reflecting solar radiation, metal roofing keeps attic temperatures lower than dark asphalt counterparts. This reduces cooling demand during Tennessee’s humid summers and helps HVAC systems operate more efficiently.

Insulation Integration

HEP can install rigid foam or spray-foam insulation between metal panels and roof decking, further decreasing thermal bridging and producing consistent indoor comfort.

Potential for Solar Panel Mounting

Standing seam roofs include concealed clamps that secure photovoltaic panels without drilling through the metal, preserving waterproof integrity and reducing installation time for solar contractors.

Noise, Aesthetics, and Comfort

Acoustic Management

Modern underlayments incorporate sound-dampening properties. When combined with proper attic insulation, a metal roof by HEP produces indoor sound levels comparable to or quieter than traditional shingle roofs, even during heavy rain.

Curb Appeal Upgrades

A well-selected metal profile elevates the architectural value of Clinton properties. Matte charcoal, deep bronze, and forest green remain popular hues, but bolder shades such as barn red or coastal blue can highlight gables and dormers for homeowners seeking a standout look.

Metal Roofing and Storm Readiness in Clinton

High Wind Resistance

Interlocking panels and concealed fasteners withstand uplift pressures that often occur during seasonal thunderstorms. Metal roofs tested by third-party labs demonstrate resistance to winds exceeding 140 mph, well above typical gusts recorded in Anderson County.

Impact Resistance from Hail

Class 4 impact-rated panels resist denting and puncturing, decreasing the likelihood of moisture infiltration after hail events. This characteristic helps prolong service life and reduce repair cycles.

Rapid Water Shedding

Smooth panel surfaces enable rainwater to run off quickly into gutters, minimizing pooling and ice dam formation. Properly designed overhangs and downspout placement prevent splashback, protecting siding and foundations.

Roofing Accessories and Enhancements

Gutter Systems

Metal roofs pair effectively with seamless aluminum or steel gutters. Oversize downspouts accommodate Clintons hefty summer downpours, while leaf guards prevent clogging.

Snow Guards

Though heavy snowfall is infrequent, periodic winter storms can create sliding snow hazards. HEP installs polycarbonate or metal snow guards to hold snow on the roof surface, allowing gradual melt without avalanching onto walkways.

Skylight Integration

Energy-efficient skylights, combined with curb flashings crafted from matching metal, introduce natural light while preserving roof watertightness.

Proven Warranties and Post-Installation Support

Manufacturer Material Warranties

Depending on alloy and coating, panel manufacturers often provide warranties ranging from 30 to 50 years against fading, chalking, and perforation. HEP ensures all warranty documents are registered promptly on behalf of property owners.

Workmanship Assurance by HEP

In addition to manufacturer coverage, HEP backs every Clinton installation with a workmanship guarantee that addresses potential installation-related defects discovered during the covered term.

Scheduled Roof Inspections

To maintain warranty compliance and optimize performance, HEP recommends periodic roof checks. During these inspections, technicians clear minor debris, examine flashings, and document any emerging issues before they escalate.

Environmental Stewardship and Recycling

Recycled Content

Aluminum and steel panels used by HEP incorporate significant post-consumer and post-industrial scrap, reducing energy consumption during raw material extraction and lowering greenhouse gas emissions associated with production.

End-of-Life Metal Roof Recycling

When a metal roof eventually reaches the end of its lifespan—often after five or six decades—the material retains high recycling value. HEP collaborates with local recycling facilities so retired panels re-enter the manufacturing cycle rather than occupying landfill space.

Choosing Colors and Finishes

Color Matching to Neighborhood Aesthetics

HOA-friendly color palettes allow homeowners to respect community guidelines while leveraging metal roofing performance. Subtle earth tones integrate seamlessly with brick facades and wooded surroundings typical of Clinton subdivisions.

Fade Resistance Technology

Advanced PVDF coatings embed ceramic pigments deep within resin layers. This nanotechnology shields color from ultraviolet degradation, keeping the roof vibrant even after thousands of sun-drenched Tennessee afternoons.

Popular Color Trends in Clinton

  • Charcoal Gray for modern farmhouse designs
  • Aged Copper patina finishes for rustic cabins
  • Midnight Blue for lakeside properties around Melton Hill Lake
  • Desert Sand for energy-saving light reflectivity

Myths and Misconceptions about Metal Roofing

Lightning Attraction Myth

Metal roofs do not increase the likelihood of lightning strikes. Instead, they safely dissipate electrical energy across a wide area, reducing localized damage and lowering fire risk compared to flammable roofing materials.

Noise Concerns Debunked

With today’s sound-absorbing underlayments and attic insulation standards, indoor decibel levels during rainfall are on par with or quieter than those beneath asphalt shingles. Properly fastened panels avoid the “tin roof” echoing of decades past.

Rust Susceptibility Clarified

Modern galvanized and Galvalume steel panels incorporate zinc and aluminum coatings that inhibit oxidation. PVDF paints add a secondary barrier, making rust rare when roofs are installed following manufacturer guidelines and maintained as recommended.

With meticulous installation protocols, a broad selection of panel styles, and unwavering commitment to quality, HEP positions its metal roofing service as the resilient, energy-efficient, and visually compelling solution for properties across Clinton.
