Jordan, Brayden, and Kaleb just wrapped up the job at my place and I could not be more pleased. They were professional, kind, and went above and beyond. My wife and I are building a house in Bulls Gap, and needed to hook up a pressure pump. I didn't realize what all would be needed, but they nailed it. They installed a pressure tank under the house and finished all of the piping and fittings. Because we don't have electric for our pump house, they got my generator running and made sure everything worked as it should. I won't use anybody else going forward. Thank you, guys! Y'all are awesome!

Delano depends on dependable power for agriculture, food processing, logistics, healthcare, municipal infrastructure, and a thriving community of small businesses. When outages threaten productivity or public safety, the residents and organizations of this vibrant Central Valley city look to HEP Company. HEP specializes in electrical generator work that safeguards operations against unexpected loss of grid power, voltage fluctuations, and seasonal spikes in energy demand. By combining technical mastery with an intimate understanding of local conditions, HEP delivers generator service that keeps Delano energized around the clock.

Whether a facility manager needs turnkey installation of a new diesel unit, a vineyard requires quarterly maintenance on an existing natural-gas generator, or a cold storage warehouse faces an emergency shut-down at 2 A.M., HEP technicians arrive prepared. The company’s service model centers on rapid mobilization, preventive care, and long-term performance optimization. Every intervention—no matter the scale—is designed to extend equipment life, maximize fuel efficiency, and ensure seamless power transfer when the grid goes dark.

Comprehensive Maintenance Programs

Proactive maintenance is the cornerstone of generator reliability. HEP Company structures its maintenance programs to anticipate failures before they occur, thereby preventing the costly downtime that unplanned repairs can cause. By integrating data logging, real-time monitoring, and hands-on mechanical expertise, each plan is tailored to the generator’s make, model, duty cycle, and site conditions.

Scheduled Preventive Maintenance

HEP creates maintenance calendars based on engine hours, fuel type, environmental exposure, and regulatory obligations. Typical tasks include:

  • Oil and filter changes at manufacturer-specified intervals
  • Coolant analysis to detect early signs of corrosion or chemical imbalance
  • Battery load testing to verify cranking capacity during standby periods
  • Air filter inspection and replacement for optimal combustion airflow
  • Alternator bearing lubrication and resistance checks

These routine services are conducted with minimal disruption to daily operations. When necessary, HEP coordinates short, strategic shutdowns to perform deeper internal inspections, ensuring that the generator remains compliant with the California Air Resources Board (CARB) and other regional guidelines.

Detailed Inspection Protocols

Beyond scheduled tasks, HEP technicians execute a multi-point inspection strategy:

  • Visual examination of wiring harnesses for insulation degradation
  • Thermal imaging of control panels to locate hot spots that indicate loose connections
  • Fuel sample analysis for particulate contamination or microbial growth
  • Exhaust system scrutiny to verify structural integrity and proper backpressure
  • Vibration monitoring across engine mounts and rotating assemblies

Each anomaly is logged in a cloud-based service history, granting Delano facility managers full transparency into the health of their power equipment. The data informs future maintenance adjustments, ensuring that generators evolve alongside operational demands.

Professional Generator Installation

Installing a standby or prime-power generator involves far more than setting equipment on a concrete pad. HEP Company manages every aspect, from power-demand calculations to final commissioning, providing Delano clients with a turnkey solution that synchronizes perfectly with existing infrastructure.

Site Assessment in Delano’s Varied Environments

From densely packed distribution hubs along Cecil Avenue to remote pistachio groves west of town, Delano offers diverse installation scenarios. HEP begins each project with a comprehensive site assessment:

  • Load analysis that accounts for starting currents of motor-driven machinery
  • Geotechnical surveys to verify soil stability for generator foundations
  • Environmental considerations, including prevailing wind patterns and flood plains
  • Acoustic modeling to meet local noise ordinances without sacrificing performance

This meticulous groundwork ensures that generators are sized correctly, anchored securely, and positioned for maximum airflow and serviceability.

Safe Interconnections with Existing Electrical Systems

Integration with a facility’s switchgear and automatic transfer switch (ATS) is critical for safe operation. HEP electricians design and implement interconnections that comply with the National Electrical Code (NEC) and utility intertie standards. Their process includes:

  • Conductor sizing for continuous and transient loads
  • Proper bonding and grounding to mitigate fault currents
  • Synchronization protocols for parallel operation when multiple generators share a load
  • Verification of protective relays and circuit breakers to isolate faults

Upon completion, every installation undergoes full functional testing, where HEP simulates outages to confirm that the generator assumes the load within the specified transfer time.

Rapid-Response Repairs

Even well-maintained generators can experience unexpected issues, especially when operating in the extreme summer temperatures common to Delano. HEP maintains a fleet of service vehicles equipped with diagnostic tools, commonly used replacement parts, and portable load banks.

Common Generator Issues Addressed by HEP Technicians

  • Hard starting or failure to start due to fuel delivery problems
  • Overheating triggered by clogged radiators or failed coolant pumps
  • Low voltage or frequency drift caused by AVR (Automatic Voltage Regulator) malfunction
  • Excessive smoke indicating improper combustion or worn piston rings
  • Alarm conditions related to sensor faults or control panel errors

HEP’s technicians isolate root causes quickly, leveraging both manual troubleshooting and digital engine analyzers. Repairs are executed on site whenever feasible, reducing towing or crane costs. If major engine overhauls are required, HEP coordinates transportation to its regional service center, where full machine shops and dynamometer testing restore components to OEM specifications.

Use of OEM Parts and Advanced Diagnostic Tools

Maintaining generator integrity demands the right parts and tools. HEP’s repair ecosystem includes:

  • OEM-certified gaskets, injectors, turbochargers, and control boards
  • Direct connection to manufacturer firmware updates for modern electronic engines
  • Borescopes for internal cylinder inspection without teardown
  • Infrared analyzers to check exhaust gas temperatures across multiple cylinders
  • Megohmmeter testing for alternator insulation resistance

By pairing genuine components with precise diagnostics, HEP minimizes repeat failures and restores generators to factory performance benchmarks.

Fuel System Expertise

Fuel quality directly affects generator reliability, especially for units that sit idle for long periods. HEP engineers evaluate and maintain fuel systems to preserve energy density, prevent microbial contamination, and comply with emission standards. Services include:

  • Annual fuel sampling and laboratory analysis
  • On-site polishing to remove water and sludge from diesel storage tanks
  • Fuel stabilizer application for extended standby periods
  • Verification of day-tank level controls and leak detection sensors
  • Calibration of fuel injection systems for optimized burn efficiency

These measures reduce injector fouling, cylinder glazing, and unburned hydrocarbon emissions, ensuring that Delano’s generators meet operational readiness whenever demand arises.

Emissions and Environmental Compliance

California enforces some of the strictest emissions regulations in the United States, and Delano is no exception. HEP helps clients align with:

  • CARB Airborne Toxic Control Measures (ATCM) for diesel particulate matter
  • San Joaquin Valley Air Pollution Control District (SJVAPCD) permitting and reporting requirements
  • Local ordinances governing sound attenuation and exhaust stack height

HEP conducts opacity testing, installs diesel particulate filters (DPF), and manages selective catalytic reduction (SCR) systems for NOx control. By staying current with evolving legislation, the company shields clients from penalties while promoting cleaner air for the Delano community.

Load Bank Testing and Performance Optimization

A generator’s ability to accept load without stalling or under-frequency depends on regular exercise. HEP employs resistive and reactive load banks to verify the true capacity of each unit. Testing procedures involve:

  • Gradual load application in 25 % increments to warm the engine
  • Steady-state runs at 80 % or higher load to burn off wet-stacking deposits
  • Recording frequency droop, voltage regulation, and alternator temperature rise
  • Simulated step-load changes to test governor and AVR response

Comprehensive reports document performance metrics, helping managers schedule strategic fuel polishing, filter changes, or control calibrations before issues escalate.

Control System Upgrades

Legacy generators often rely on analog controls that lack the responsiveness demanded by today’s critical operations. HEP offers digital control retrofits that deliver:

  • Real-time monitoring via SCADA, smartphone, or secure web portals
  • Automatic load shedding to prevent overload during emergencies
  • Remote start/stop capability for unmanned sites
  • Expanded alarm diagnostics with data logging for root-cause analysis

Upgrades are executed with minimal downtime, and HEP programmers customize logic sequences to integrate seamlessly with building management systems (BMS) and energy management software.
