What our customers say

Our eleven-year-old heating and air conditioning system failed early in the Summer. We called HEP and after some discussion with their advisors we decided to invest in a state-of-the-art HVAC system manufactured by Trane and sold through HEP. It was installed quickly and efficiently and without delay by HEP service men. Part of the attraction was the Warranty offered by HEP which included a three-year-maintenance-and inspection-agreement on all household plumbing and electrical equipment, as well as a full ten-year-parts-and-labor Warranty on the HVAC system itself. Subsequently, we required service on our hot-tub and HEP's response ( from serviceman Richie) was quick, professional, and reasonable. We found him to be courteous and helpful. The problem turned out to be minor and we were only charged accordingly and fairly. We intend to continue to be HEP customers for all of our plumbing, electrical, and HVAC needs for the foreseeable future.

HEP has been wonderful. I created an electrical problem which when I call HEP they sent out a tech who fixed it and then looked at my heating unit. I have known for sometime that the unit needed to be replaced. Doug was kind enough to evaluate the current system and at his suggestion I asked for a salesman to meet with me. He was kind enough to get the salesman here the same day and I purchased a unit that they are installing now. It has been like clockwork, each piece of the puzzle coming together. HEP you have a great team that knows how to work in sync. Thank you so much.

Detailed Overview of the Solar Installation Process

No two rooftops in Cowan are identical, and HEP approaches each property with a bespoke methodology. The process unfolds through clearly defined milestones.

Site Assessment and Feasibility Study

HEP’s engineers conduct:

  • Shade analysis using drone imagery and digital modeling
  • Structural assessments of rafters, battens, and roofing materials
  • Electrical load profiling based on historical meter data

This rigorous evaluation determines the optimal array size, mounting angle, and component selection required to achieve the desired energy offset.

Custom System Design

Designers then translate site data into a comprehensive solar plan that specifies:

  • Panel wattage and quantity
  • Inverter type (string, micro, or hybrid)
  • Wiring routes and conduit location
  • Safety isolator positions

The design package includes performance simulations that project yearly energy generation, demonstrating how seasonal variations affect output.

Grid Connection and Compliance

HEP liaises with network operators to secure approval for grid connectivity. Required documents—such as single-line diagrams, voltage rise calculations, and protection device settings—are prepared in strict alignment with Ausgrid guidelines. This diligence eliminates approval delays and assures a seamless grid-tie.

Post-Installation Commissioning

Once hardware is mounted and wired:

  • Insulation resistance tests verify cable integrity
  • Polarity and open-circuit voltage checks confirm panel health
  • Inverter firmware is updated to the latest revision
  • Generation data is logged to establish a performance baseline

A final Electrical Certificate of Compliance is issued, providing homeowners with tangible proof that the system meets all statutory obligations.

All installations undergo mandatory inspection and documentation, satisfying Clean Energy Regulator record-keeping obligations.

Solar Incentives and Rebates Available to Cowan Residents

Small-Scale Technology Certificates (STCs)

Under Australia’s Renewable Energy Target, eligible systems earn STCs proportional to their predicted generation until 2030. HEP manages all paperwork and assigns STCs at point of sale, simplifying the process for property owners.

Feed-in Tariffs

Cowan households that export excess solar power to the grid receive credit on their electricity bill through retailer feed-in tariffs. While rates vary, HEP engineers design systems to balance onsite consumption with strategic export, maximising long-term savings.

State-Level Support for Battery Storage

New South Wales initiatives occasionally roll out no-interest loans or rebate programs for integrated storage. HEP monitors policy updates and can promptly retrofit batteries to qualifying systems, enabling clients to capture additional incentives as they emerge.

Environmental Impact and Energy Savings

Reduction of Carbon Footprint

A typical 6.6 kW HEP-installed system in Cowan offsets approximately:

  • 9–10 MWh of grid electricity annually
  • 7–8 tonnes of CO₂ emissions each year

Over the 25-year panel warranty period, that represents more than 175 tonnes of avoided emissions—comparable to planting around 2,900 native trees.

Financial Payback Timeline

Energy yield modelling carried out during the design phase forecasts how quickly the system’s generated electricity will outweigh initial investment outlays. Variables such as rooftop orientation, system size, and household consumption patterns are factored in to produce a personalised cash-flow projection.

Maintenance Services by HEP

Scheduled Performance Checks

HEP offers routine inspections that include:

  • Infrared thermography to detect cell hotspots
