FAQs
What kinds of plumbing fixtures can your Birchwood technicians replace?
We can remove and install virtually any residential or light–commercial plumbing fixture, including kitchen and bathroom faucets, sinks, toilets, tub and shower valves, garbage disposals, laundry trays, outdoor spigots, and supply lines. If you are unsure whether your particular fixture can be replaced, just send us a photo or the model number and we’ll confirm before we arrive.
How do I know whether a fixture should be repaired or completely replaced?
As a rule of thumb, replacement is the better option when the fixture is more than 10–15 years old, has visible corrosion or cracks, or has required more than one repair in the past two years. Upgrading is also recommended when you want better water efficiency or a refreshed look. During our visit we’ll inspect the fixture, give you a repair-vs-replace cost comparison, and let you decide with no sales pressure.
Which brands and models do you recommend for long-term reliability?
We are factory-trained on Moen, Delta, Kohler, American Standard, and Toto products because they consistently perform well, have readily available parts, and back their fixtures with solid warranties. For budget-friendly projects we may suggest Glacier Bay or Pfister models that still meet Birchwood’s plumbing code and WaterSense efficiency standards. We always review several options with you so you can balance style, performance, and price.
How long will the replacement take and will my water be shut off the entire time?
Most single-fixture replacements take 60–90 minutes once we’re on site. Complex projects like a shower valve hidden behind tile can take 3–4 hours. We only shut the water off at the nearest isolation valve or, if necessary, the main for 10–20 minutes while we disconnect the old fixture and tie in the new one. You’ll have water service restored for the majority of the visit.
Do you offer upfront pricing and any warranties on your work?
Yes. After evaluating the job we give you a flat-rate written quotation that covers labor, materials, tax, and haul-away—no surprise add-ons. All fixtures we supply carry the manufacturer’s warranty (usually 1–5 years, lifetime on select faucets), and we back our workmanship with a 12-month labor warranty. If a leak or installation defect appears within that period, we return and repair it at no charge.
Are you licensed and insured to perform plumbing fixture replacements in Birchwood, and do I need a permit?
We are fully licensed by the State of Wisconsin as a Master Plumber and carry $1 million in liability insurance plus workers’ compensation for every employee. Most simple fixture swaps do not require a municipal permit, but if the replacement alters drain lines, venting, or water piping we will obtain the proper Birchwood Building & Zoning permit on your behalf and schedule the inspection. All documentation is included in our service folder for your records.
